I think this is far more likely to have been motivated by behringer's proposed clone than synapse audio's.
While it won't have synapse audio's attention to detail, it is a pity that this will land at such a similar time. Still, the legend seems to have done very well in a crowded field so...

I think by saying the SA GUI doesn't have those lines, you just violated the NBAAnX wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 1:44 pm Well, the Synapse gui is much better, I hate those lines, send my eyes nuts![]()

Here it says 149 euros.Vortifex wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 1:03 pm https://www.arturia.com/store/analog-classics/ob-xav
Intro offer is showing as 99 euros for me.
Arturia often add interesting stuff to emulations, but in terms of sound quality I am not so sure about Arturia. They have basically become a hardware company by now.
By the way, why did they all pick the Xa when its predecessor is said to have sounded better?

The $99 is for people who already own one or more Arturia plugins.e-crooner wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 2:13 pmHere it says 149 euros.Vortifex wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 1:03 pm https://www.arturia.com/store/analog-classics/ob-xav

I'm pretty sure they just released it when it was ready...why would they hold it back? They have some sort of 'launch livestream' today...may be more than just this....urosh wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 2:10 pm I doubt anyone on the planet thinks that Arturia got into development of OB-Xa emu because of Synapse, but timing of their release smells funny.
I think its pretty good (no idea what a real one sounds like but it sounds good as a VA)
Good modulation options and good fx...I'm sure it will end up as part of a Collection Bundle soon and I like being able to use these in the 'Lab' as it unifies all the interfaces makes it easy to layer etc.
Anyway, something to play with (good free demo) whilst you wait for the Synapse OB-Xa.

Because it would make more sense to launch as a part of V8. But maybe they have a bunch of other stuff prepared for V8.

Oh, I see. I am pretty sure the SA one will not be more than 149, let alone 199 euros.chk071 wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 2:15 pmThe $99 is for people who already own one or more Arturia plugins.e-crooner wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 2:13 pmHere it says 149 euros.Vortifex wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 1:03 pm https://www.arturia.com/store/analog-classics/ob-xav

Except my offer is only for the upgrade to V7 including the OB-Xa and it's $149. I'm not given then option to just get the OB-Xa.chk071 wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 2:15 pmThe $99 is for people who already own one or more Arturia plugins.e-crooner wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 2:13 pmHere it says 149 euros.Vortifex wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 1:03 pm https://www.arturia.com/store/analog-classics/ob-xav

Nice, pad and brass are my favorite sounds from such analog synths (I don't really care whether it is an Oberheim or SCI or whatever). Especially when people play the right chords like in this video.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 10:44 am
For anyone wanting sound clips... it sounds like that!
I don't like that glide thingy, though. It rarely fits in my view.

You may be right, do they normally do 2-3 at one and an update to the collection (I have no idea what is normal) but I think they did that the last couple of release. Maybe they have singled this one out like Pigments or the FX? Either way, I am sure that for them getting it launched before 'any other' OB-Xa hits the market is the right thing to do commercially….
EDIT- they are doing what they did with Pigments it seems- I am being offered OB-Xa and an upgrade to V7 Collection for 149USD.
