I've done EBM, harsh industrial, etc. on FL Studio. This is the most effective and amazing music environment for me. Don't need anything else, FL Studio, a few plug ins and I've got a perfect set up. If someone disagress, who is having fn and making my stuff? the people who are trashing FL Studio?. In the end, the only one that counts is me.

Greeting to all FL Studio heads :D

I use FL exclusively. I looked at others briefly but bought FL a couple years ago (when it was still Fruityloops) and haven't looked back. Who cares about the name?!!! It does all that I need it to do and keeps getting better and free updates!

I bought it because it's cheap.

I use it because it's fantastic.

If it weren't violation of God's law, I'd make it my wife.

Part of me pities anyone who has not yet discovered it.

If it makes you feel better I use CUBASIS....and apparantly that's really shit.

Fruityloops has been my first serious musical software.

Today, FLS is still one of my favorite. it's incredibly easy to use, modulable and powerful.

When i'm about to start a new project i ALWAYS start in FLS. That's the place where my inspiration is really free to express itself.

i've never understood the toy moanings. they don't know what they talk about.

Post

To tell you the truth I don't care if it is a toy.

Who said you can't made great music with a toy?

Anyway - it's hard to consider something that is VST and DX compatible as being a toy. The sounds are coming from you plug into it.

I don't use FL anymore and I didn't really gel with its "workflow", but who gives a flying beep. I see lots of people using it a variety of ways successfully. More power I say. :D

Now dump FL and move to eXT where all the mad scientists live. :hihi:

Have you heard any Reason tunes :hihi:

I use FL exclusively nowadays, bought it when it was 3.5. The built in synths are okay, but really, it's the sequencer functionality that makes it stand out. The one thing it lacked badly was audio recording, but that was introduced in v4.0, and although still rather basic, it is very straightforward.
Let those ignorant pseudo-pros diss FL all they want, the level of attention to detail IL put into FL is outstanding, the Looptalk forum is a great place to get and give help, we can talk with the devs, we get some freebie synths at each major update, lifetime free updates and the best piano-roll ever!
I've messed with Cubase and Logic before, they are great for audio work, but I really didn't like their sequencers and they're not very straightforward. Having come from a hardware background (with drum machines, pattern sequencers and synths), FL was immediate for me. And I keep finding new ways to do stuff all the time!

Reason is a toy. Buy ORION! it's pro.

Now with improved MIDI jitter!

And FL, that's a toy too. Not as much of a toy as Reason but more than ORION!

Another vote for FLS here. Mind you, my music would sound shit whatever host I used.....

Oh, and they could call it "Gay host for gayest gay people only" for all I care. WTF is it about a name that makes people give a damn? :nutter:

Post

For what it's worth (answer, diddly squat), I've always liked the name. It was just a bonus that americans seemed to have an issue with it (what they don't have an issue with?). Sure, it's likely that something called 'Fruity Loops' never gains ground in the 'professional' circles, but then again, that's only their loss.

As for anyone caring about what they use and how the 'community' feels about any given application... remember there's a world outside these forums. And these forums are pretty much the meeting place for geeks more interested in talking about tools than utilizing them.

Now, only a few insults in this post. Must be getting old...
