That’s one I haven’t checked yet - I’ll check it tomorrow.
You get a chance to try that out yet?
I just tried. Works fine for me (I'm running Catalina).
Interesting. Thanks!
I'm on Mojave but it was working just fine before 10.5.

Must just be something weird with my system so I'll have to trouble shoot some stuff before I bother GForce about it.

What happens? Does it crash only when you try to open the UI?

No, it stalls Logic as soon as I load an instance in the plugin slot. The moment I choose M-Tron Pro from my plugin list I get a never ending beach ball.

I haven't done an exhaustive exploration of what's going yet though.
This just started happening in a project I was working on so I tried it in a new project and it happened there too.
But there's still a lot of troubleshooting I can do.

No, but Windows can run on a Mac...

Downloaded and installed last night.

I have to say I’m loving it.

No problems so far.

I make hobbyist electronic music ITB - so a fairly simple workflow probably helps me avoid any bugs that may be around.

The new sequencer is an absolute game changer for me - I usually use hysequencer collection - and still will for its randomising and more creative options - but this thing is great. The LEARN function is amazing for both melodic work AND for automation.
It just so simple to use - creating drum patterns and bass lines is a snap and making little automation lanes is fun.

The new drum machine designer is clean and effective - the new drum kits included are really nice - clear and weighty.

The Live looping is sparking creativity already
- after one night I can’t believe I lived without it before. Have gone back to old projects and pulled them across into loops added a few step sequencers with Alchemy patches and immediately found new ideas.

Hope y'all can do me a favor - is there a galloping/ticking sound in the background of that file?

New MBP, installed Logic Pro tonight - there's a weird ticking when I play an instrument... sometimes. It seems to go away completely if I change from 44.1k to 48k, but also just seems to go away sometimes when I choose a different instrument.

Trying to figure out if there's an issue with this MBP, with Logic as installed on this MBP, or if I'm tripping balls.

I'm leaning toward MBP problem because now when I played that AIFF file after exporting it, the ticking was still present but now it seems to be gone...

Post

Not hearing any ticking -- just a gentle phasing at maybe 3Hz or so, like two triangle waves interfering with each other.

Thanks, pretty sure it's an issue with the MBP. The original file played a couple of minutes apart - my phone exacerbates the ticking, it's not quite as loud as in the second half of the video.

I found this:

It suggests resetting SMC as the problem might be due to the fan.

Yeeeeeah that's just weird. Sounds cool though -- make sure you record something neat with it before you fix it.

Does anyone have an issue with Guitar Rig crashing validation in Logic? Hadn't noticed that it was showing as not enabled, but it seems to be because it crashes the AU validation tool each time.

Guitar Rig seems to work on my end. Didn't crash on validation or anything like that. I know some NI plugins are having issues at the moment but so far I've been able to use them and they seem fine.

Yeah, this is not the UI issue that they're trying to fix right now, it's Guitar Rig crashing the validation process, so it won't load them due to the crash error.

Well like I said I haven't had that issue. It works just fine on my end.
