No it isn't. I was using a mobile Core i5 until about a year ago and it did everything I needed it to do. When next we play live, it will be with a 4th gen Core i5 from 2014 and it will do just fine. It has been a long time since you had to worry about squeezing every last drop out of your processor for audio.
