- Will buy Arturia and Obsession
- Will buy both
Yeah, I have a duplicate in there. But if I modify the poll we lose all votes counted so far so I'm leaving it.
I think we should read "will buy both" as "fish" because no poll at KVR shall be valid if it doesn't have a "fish" option.

You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

You think?
Actually, yeah, I do. Already we can see that Synapse will lose sales if they don't come out with this soon. I suspect it will be quite significant given Arturia's doesn't sound bad, something quite a few people agree on.
You're drawing conclusions from 11 votes in a poll with duplicate options.?
1. When the poll is completed, there will be more than 11 votes.

2. Regardless of how many votes, every vote in the first two options means a lost sale for Synapse because of Arturia's version.

3. The duplicate option is irrelevant. I'm not concerned with the percentage breakdown. I'm only concerned with how many people won't buy Obsession because Arturia released their own version first.

FWIW, I expect roughly 50 to 60 votes and about 20% in the first option. That's a lot of lose sales any way you slice it.

But we'll see. I could be wrong. But that's why I've made the poll, to find out.

Probably most people buying the Arturia version now do not visit this forum and they are not interested in non existent products they never heard of.

I'm sure that's possible but there is no way to know for certain. You're only guessing.

and this affects you how?

What I know is that I bought the Arturia for 49 Euro because I like the Arturia eco system and the sounds in the demos. I did not know about other versions of this synth and I really do not care. I do not care if a synth emulation does sound 100% like an original either.

I'm buying both. Absolutely. $50 for the Arturia version was/is nothing - almost a no-brainer - the fam goes out to dinner; there's more then that that's spent. My guess is that the Synapse emu will cost me more - and probably deservedly so - reads like a lot of thought and work went into it.

It doesn't affect me one little bit. But I would like to think that a smart businessman is concerned about the competition and what they're doing.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Richard doesn't care if Arturia's early release leads to lost sales, which you can clearly see even with these limited responses, it will.

Maybe Richard being proactive and announcing a price for Obsession before June 9th might be a smart business decision. It might keep people from buying Arturia and waiting until Obsession is released.

This. I'd need an option for "Will buy eventually as part of a later V Collection".

I really don't understand the endgame of this poll. Are you trying to convince Synapse to get a (potentially) buggy product out early?

Either way, it seems Obsession is well named with all the weirdness on the forum about it. :?

"I will probably buy the Synapse one when I'll be able to test both (when Obsession will be released) and will be given the confirmation that Obsession IS better."

But I already can tell the Arturia one is pretty good.

I won't buy either (i hope) as i don't really need another synth (i hope again  )

My sympathy is with Synapse though, but the Arturia one will probably good too.

THAT'S NOT ABOUT BUSINESS! GET A GRIP MAN!

No option for "will buy the one that I think is better, depending upon money and if I want to buy one and if I need to buy one or maybe I will not buy either and buy another synth instead, or no synth at all, maybe buy a small candle".

Famous last words!

I've said it over and over again but I still buy stuff I don't need. I wish I had more self-control. :D
