While you're around, is there any chance Shimmer could be finally updated to include preset management (and UI style too I guess) like the other plugins? Seems weird it's the odd one out even needing its own FAQ Support entry to explain how it doesn't have presets.bleen wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 4:46 pmYou would be incorrect; all algorithms in Supermassive are brand new and exclusive to the plugin. They aren't designed to create "realistic" spaces or delays, but are tailored to longer, more esoteric spaces and atmospheres (they can do cool short reverbs and delays, too).chk071 wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 4:42 pmIf I had to guess then I would say that they're taken from them.SonicDimension wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 4:40 pm How do these algorithms compare with the ones in other Valhalla plugins?
Has Sean lost the code for it or something?

I'm sure Sean said before that Shimmer (as one of his earliest plugins) is built around a totally different framework to the later ones. It wouldn't simply be a case of adding the bits you mentioned but a total rewrite. I guess it's a time thing, is it worth his while spending that much effort on a plugin that may not actually sell much nowadays? Is his heart even in it, reviewing old code that he could do better now. I know I've had to go back to old projects and update them and it's mentally quite 'annoying' I guess, not working on something new and exciting but having to maintain old shite (in my caseWatchTheGuitar wrote: Thu May 21, 2020 10:13 am While you're around, is there any chance Shimmer could be finally updated to include preset management (and UI style too I guess) like the other plugins? Finally got around to play around with this. Very cool plug-in. Sound awesome. Some pretty good presets too. Thanx Valhalla.

This thing is amazing. I'm really impressed by the way that Valhalla plugins have been moving towards fewer knobs doing more things (compare this to Room for example). I love the way that Warp and Density interact -- you can move smoothly from grainy delay-type sounds to huge beautiful reverbs -- and all with minimal CPU hit. After using this for a few days I can say, with no hyperbole, that I would have paid the full $50 for this if Sean had chosen to release it for sale. Great stuff.

Over the last weeks a Blackbird in our garden developed this theme which it is singing in various transpositions and at different speeds, so I improvised a little thing around it on a Pianoteq piano and processed that with ValhallaSupermassive live on video.

Woah, Supermassive is fantastic. Not sure if i should say that but i like it even more than Valhalla Delay.
One of the best free FX ever. This put a big smile on the face while using it.
Thank you!

But this blends Reverb and Delay very nicely and i feel i can get closer to these absolutely beautiful reverb effects found in boutique ambient guitar pedals like the Earthquaker Devices Afterneath
ValhallaDSP is really one of the best developers ever. I also like their strict 'no-sales'-policy much.
I guess if you trust in the quality and value for money of your plugins, you don't have to rush your customers into decisions with 'biggest discount ever, flash sale!" marketing that many others do.
(I'm looking at you, Waves...getting an E-Mail every single day, always about the same sale

It has a Feedback control which governs decay (and of course is affected by delay time). The Clear button removes any sound in the delay buffer if you just need to have the sound stop.Dirtgrain wrote: Thu May 21, 2020 4:46 pm Is changing algorithms the only way to control reverb tail length?

Is it possible to donate some money to Sean for this plugin? And if so, does anybody know how to do it? I already have VVV and there's no other Valhalla plugins on my wishlist, but this one really rulezzzz! For me it's more usable in my projects than VVV. Just few knobs, but it's amazing what it can do. In compare with other Valhalla free plugin (I mean FreqEcho) it's unbelievable, that it's free. In my opinion, it will be the best free plugin released this year.

"The idea behind the GUI was to organize the controls in a logical manner, such that their size and display status was an accurate representation of their relative importance. The GUI is also proudly 2D, with the controls being more of an abstraction of knobs and sliders than an ersatz depiction of hardware that doesn’t exist. Futura Demibold was chosen as the font, as it is specified as the control panel font in the NASA usability guidelines, and because it just looks cool. The tooltips area is an effort to incorporate documentation as a design element, in keeping with the minimalist/Swiss School influences."

Buy ValhallDelay, it was only widely considered the best plugin released last year and sounds amazing on everything. Or VintageVerb because it's as close to a must have as it get's with effect plugins. But seriously.
