I think the kicker for me would be limiting exports to 16 bits, bit limiting in this day and age imo.

I would really like a true MSEG and more complexity in the phase distortion oscillator... it would be nice to do casio style sounds. I have Virtual CZ which is great but I'm mostly using Linux right now, maybe I'll get around to figuring out how to use VST plugs in wine, I have a bunch of D16 plugs as well that I'd like to use. Hopefully the next year will bring some great additions to bitwig it really is a great program.
Good luck with your purchase!

An MSEG is a common request... what additional complexity would you like with the Phase Osc?

Just to note this page is linked right from the main page for the 16-track product. They have the table of major differences then right below that there is a red button "Full Feature Comparison Chart".

Thanks! I'm enjoying it quite a bit, too bad I haven't been particularly inspired lately but it comes and goes and I'm having fun when the moment does strike :)

As far as the phase osc, I wish it was more like Casio's design, where you choose the wave of both the carrier and the modulator (for lack of better terms), from what I can tell, whichever waveform you choose is phase distorted against either a sine or a square. it would be nice to just be able to choose which waveform it's put to... also would be nice to have those resonant waveforms as well, those were really cool.. the formant option gives a similar effect though. But it's not really a biggy just dreaming out loud is all, I've done a dual boot so I can use all my VST so Virtual CZ is there if I want those sounds. Phase-4 really is a great synth and I'll be exploring it for quite a while :)

There is a detailed thread in Bitwig forums here in KVR I think about Linux. It is a good help.
Thanks I'll dive in at some point, for now I'm doing a dual boot... funny you should mention NI, I just bought Prism, It's a synth I've always wanted to explore. My first NI purchase though. I am a fan of their older style interfaces though, always wanted them to come out with a straightforward VA synth with that style of interface. I 100% agree about that installer it is almost as annoying as iLok.

I mean it has a problem installing under wine in linux. In Windows, it's ok.
Prism uses modal synthesis. It's a great synth :)
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

The issue is you can only get there - to Bitwig 16-track product page - from Stories and that particular story by default is already hidden in 3rd or 4th row. The link should be right there in "Bitwig Studio" and/or "Buy" tab.
