Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and thank you KVR for accepting my registration.

Anyway, I have a question about having a 32Bit(VST2) plug-in and a 64Bit(VST3) plug-in in the same channel. Would this cause any perceivable differences or phasing issues or even stability to the channel or DAW?

Thank you!!!

Post

short answer: no
long answer: programming architecture has nothing to do with audio processing

Thank you for your reply, Ploki.

How about the latency? Anyway, most of the DAW has Bit Bridge built-in and will introduce latency when this occur. Will the latency be aligned then?

Thank you!!!

That's up to the DAW to compensate, and up to the bridge to report latency.

What DAW are you using, and what plugins are you using that are 32bit and think are irreplaceable?

No, usually a bitbridge doesn't need to introduce a latency/delay.

Thank you for all the replies.

I am using Samplitude X and the plugins that I have is given to me by a friend. It is a Lexicon PCM Reverb and a Lindell plugin. I just wanna be sure of the 32Bit and 64Bit integration would not pose potential issues especially in the latency department, which might result in phase issues.

(But well, the plugin is not irreplaceable as I do have the PCM and 480L hardware and also the 1176 compressor but when I'm traveling it will be good to have something to replace them for a rough mix.)

Since there is no issue using them together in the same project, I will continue to let both of them live harmoniously.

Once again, Thank you!!!

However there might be bitbridges that are doing this, namely doing async processing that is nonblocking and introducing a delay. I have both options in my bitbridge i coded for Jeskola Buzz, by default it does not introduce any latency, working fine enough.
