I didn't find a good Wiki for SFZ information, so I started one.
https://github.com/jlearman/sfzwiki/wiki/SFZwiki
First, this wiki does not compete with sfzformat.com. That site remains the authoritative source for objective information on SFZ format. It's also does not compete with github.com/sfzinstruments, which is a collection of high-quality SFZ-format sample sets.
Instead, it's to collect and share information about SFZ that doesn't really fit anywhere else.
So, please join in and contribute to the wiki. All you have to do to contribute is to create a (free) GitHub account, and click the "edit" button (or "create page".)
I'm really looking forward to tips & tricks info, such as how to set sounds like release samples and pedal noises to be controlled by a MIDI CC. Yeah, that's not hard, but it sure can help to have a number of examples like that. Another nifty idea is to use a mid-side technique so that the stereo width can be controlled by CC. BTW I already have info there on how to set the parameters for Sforzando's built-in MDA-VST effects. Sadly, MDA "image" isnt' there, so the mid-side technique is harder than it otherwise would be (but also it won't be limited to Sforzando.)
It's just beginning, so don't expect to find too much there yet. I will be reorganizing it as it grows.
Also, PLEASE create your own "favorites" page to post your favorite SFZs etc.
Personally I'd prefer to focus on free stuff, but it will be whatever people contribute.
If this works out, and if the owners agree, I'd like to eventually move it to GitHub/sfzinstruments. So, avoid linking into it from other sites. Feel free to link TO it, just not to deeper pages etc. Even if it moves, I'll keep the top page to redirect.

Cool. I definitely agree there's a need for something more freewheeling than sfzformat. Like, lists of "best" instruments - that's something you can do, put forward as your personal opinion, and people can read it. We can't, really.
It might even make sense to move some of the tutorials from sfzformat to there, eventually, as some of the stuff I put in there isn't really neutral and favors one way of getting somewhere over another, or talks about what complexity of hi-hat muting isn't really good enough. Then sfzformat could stick to being really neutral and describing the spec. Something to ponder...

Yeah, I see sfzformat as being authoritative, neutral, objective, and carefully moderated.
My wiki (which I hope to someday not call "mine") is for ideas, diverse opinions, favorites, informal lists, etc.
It could also be a development area for stuff that finds its way into sfzformat if it meets the goals and requirements for that site. So, I can see content moving both directions.
Thanks for your input.
