The sound of Massive X really is great. It was released unfinished, I think that's obvious to everyone! But it really does need a decent modern browser ASAP. I really like Massive X and have got some really complex and unique sounds out of it. I just wish these updates would come quicker.

If anyone want's to hear my audio demo of Massive X - https://newloops.com/products/quarantin ... -x-presets

Yeah, initially Massive X felt and still somewhat feels underwhelming. But with time, it definitely grew on me with what I was able to achieve with it.
Take care

I don't think there is any question that it sounds good, but for a 'flagship' synth after years of development and hype for one of the largest and most well known music software developers....not good enough. Just look at what some of the one man/small developers have been able to achieve with Rapid (now adding granular and MSEG by the summer), Icarus 2, Avenger and even the frequently updated Serum. I expected more but it is what it is....I own it, I'll take the updates....but it hasn't become my go to for anything in particular yet.

Edit: Not worth a second of my precious time.

I had a crash yesterday and MX didn’t save the session state, so each instance was reset to either an init or preset.

Post

Isn't it the DAW's responsibility to save the state of each plugin in a project?

Every other plugins state was saved. Live 10.

Interesting. It was a project you had saved or not saved? (Don't use Live so not sure if it temporarily saves etc)
Certainly I know in Cubase if I have a project, that hasn't been saved (I dont' use AutoSave there), and I make my own presets for that project and Cubase crashes, those presets are gone.

Yeah, saved project. The MX patches reverted to the init patch and the initial state of the preset I tweaked.

Post

To be clear, you tweaked it and then saved the project, or saved the project, tweaked it then it crashed? To be even clearer, it did not revert to the state it was when last the project was saved?

It did not revert to the state it was when last the project was saved.
