Shills as well

I think the proportion of trolls to shills is unbalanced towards the troll side. Every REAPER thread...

Perhaps now it is. It's a reaction that has possibly outlived its usefulness. It's actually possible now to discuss another host on this site without being inundated with Reavangelists. For a LONG time it wasn't, so the reaper trolling had useful beginnings.

I didn't experience the Reavangelist cruzade myself but I've experienced the "backlash" for years. It's actually sad to see how many people have nothing better to do than to troll people online who use a DAW they don't like. And it's some grown-ass men doing it too...

I think it’s just become a meme at this point. I doubt a lot of it is intended to be mean spirited. For myself, I don’t like it as a host, but It bothers me not at all that people love it. I also have recommended it to people looking for batch editing capabilities and the like.

Same, I recommend Reaper when it's clearly the choice, but other than that, it's a freakin' meme hahaha and I use Bitwig hahahah another meme hahaha

Haters gotta hate. They can't help themselves. It's in their DNA.

Yeah, it's not everyone doing it. To me, the problem is that this happens in posts where newbies are asking questions. When 60-70% of comments are troll posts you are creating a hostile environment instead of a supportive/friendly one. Some of them do seem quite mean-spirited, tbh. I think mods should deal with this, at this point.

Let the Reaper man, he won't get away, just keep the groove and then he'll come back to you again!

Inadvertently the trolls are keeping this thread alive giving Reaper more exposure. I guess that's a good thing. Party on trollers!!! :hyper: :hihi:
