Here's exactly what to expect from 12 - https://www.native-instruments.com/foru ... 12.328679/
(since this was leaked, a number of products on this list that were hitherto unknown have indeed been released, verifying its credibility. The only stopouts now are Massive X and Kontakt 6, the two real biggies. Best guesses - release date would be any time in the couple of months after this current sale ends. No sale on K12 til next summer. My own additional guess is Kontakt 6 won't be ready in time for Komplete 12 release but will be added automatically on release).

I would wait for 12 .. the new content is probably worth the 20% sale. I purchased Ultimate11 only because of the 50% upgrade deal, which is good enough to wait another year to upgrade to 12.

The "save 20%", on Komplete 11, is a very poor offer by Native Instruments.
There's likely no advantage to buying if you plan to "upgrade" to Komplete 12. Depending on the pricing, it may actually be cheaper just to wait for Komplete 12 at full price (or on offer later, if you're very patient.. )
The only half-decent Komplete offers seem to be clear outs in stores which have hardware bundles which feature discontinued versions of their hardware. Beware of the Komplete Ultimate path unless you want extremely high upgrade fees, even if you're on the most recent from last version.
There's an awful lot, related to Native Instruments pricing structures and upgrade policies, which now makes absolutely no sense. It's almost like they only care about shifting hardware and selling to education markets lately..

If I recall, the cheapest way up the ladder from zero goes something like...
Install the free Kontakt Player and Free Senheisser Drum Mic'a library
Crossgrade to full Kontakt in a crossgrade sale
Crossgrade from full Kontakt to regular Komplete in a crossgrade sale
Crossgrade from regular Komplete in a crossgrade sale
Not all these deals are available simultaneously so it might take a while.

I’m using Komplete 9 (not ultimate so i guess it’s not complete after all). I’m set until at least Komplete 13 unless they do something special, like update Absynth (which i really like).

Think all those Maschine expansions are going to be in the K12 Standard or Ultimate versions?

I started with Komplete 8 and upgraded every time at full price as early adopter, paying $400 just to find out a month later that "if" I bought hardware.... To be honest- I only use Kontakt, Massive and occasionally Absynth.

I am on Komplete 9 and made a list what komplete 12 brings to the table (note: not ultimate) if I do an upgrade from komplete 9 to komplete 12:
Choral
Deep matter
Discovery india
Discovery middle east
Driver
Drumlab
Elektrik piano
FLair
FM8
halcyon sky
Kinetic metal
Komplete Kontrol
