It's that CC 133 is MIDI note number, but might be the note number of some other note, because a CC is the same across the whole instrument at any given moment. I know, I know, I need to document that, and explain it clearly - also what it might mean for controllable keytracking and velocity tracking.

It's working, just not yet working as expected.
I gone too far :D :D
Reverted to conventional ampeg_release

Okay...toast!
I need HUMANS with instruments! I'm going nuts here. Sigh. But hey want to do some tracks? If so send a PM & we can figure out how/where. I used to do that a lot but the site is long gone.

Updated drums at sfzinstruments git, after some nice lecture last night from the creator of sforzando himself about polyphony.

Will also update drums at the mappings section soon.

Posted the public domain Free Piano,
Splendid Grand by Akai :

256 MB version, converted to flac, 76 MB

Akai Grandpiano: Thank you, Kinwie!

This is a great library, especially since everything in FLAC format takes
up only 76 mb. Also, the SFZ you created is very clearly arranged by the
includes. Anyone can quickly change the velocity levels without having
to wade through infinite code. Thanks, thanks, thanks!

Thank you, Kinwie.

And of course, thanks to the original authors, Jes Eiler and Lars Muldjord!

This is a veeery detailed kit, including whiskers, ambient, top and bottom,
and it must have been an unbelievable amount of work to build up these
sfz's.

This is very much appreciated - and also: Any musician who uses free drum
kits has no excuse for his drums not sounding polished and real! Not from
now on, anyway!

Hi
I've been trying to download the files for MTG Trumpet. I've got the sample pack ok. But I've failed miserably with the SFZ files on Github. Is there a download button I'm missing? The best I could manage was to click the sfz filenames than click the RAW button and do a "save as" from there. I get the file downloaded with the correct extension but windows and sforzando figure its just a text file and it fails to load in sforzando.
Would someone be kind enough to give provide me with an idiots guide to correct downloading of sfz files from github.
thanks in advance
Steve

MTG trumpet just has mappings, the samples need to be downloaded separately, as written in the readme file:

How to use
Download the original samples from Freesound.org (Pack: "Trumpet single notes" by MTG): https://freesound.org/people/MTG/packs/20232/

Place the extracted samples in a sub-directory called "Samples", for example: C:\samplelibraries\sfz\MTGtrumpet\Samples

Download the .sfz mapping and place it next to (not into) the "Samples" directory

Load in Sforzando.

So, you need a) the SFZ mappings from the Github and b) the original samples found on Freesound.org

Preferably you can download the entire

Code: Select all

https://github.com/sfzinstruments/mappings
folder as a .zip file using the green button on the upper rightern side. Then you just extract the subfolders you need (for example: only the MTG Trumpet). The green button is not available for the subfolders, hence downloading the mainfolder and then extracting the ones you want to use is the best practice here.

Cheers
