hi
Sorry if I've missed something obvious but I can't get them to load e.g TC's banks.
Nothing happens after loading them.
EnergyXT gives the message:
"rhino2.dll. Plugin id doesn't match id in file"
So all I have is the default R2 bank to play with....

this error message means that you haven't installed the final version but only the release candidate -
delete the Rhino2.dll manually and install the update again.

But I don't think I was a user of the pre-release...
All I did was unpacked the 2.01 download from my BT webpage and pasted the new version over the older Rhino2.

Indeed the ID are different (since Tim banks were done with Rhino 1) - but there shouldn't be a reason for XT to complain - especially if it was working with Rhino 2.0 !
Maybe you can try to load the bank in the standalone (it shouldn't complain) and save it back. It will thus be auto-upgraded to 2.01... But again, I can't see why you need to do that, since it's working great here with Energy XT.

This is well weird.
FLS says that "This preset is not for this plugin" when I try to these Rhino 1 fxb's e.g.DX7 bank, ambient pad bank etc.
Any further advice ?
cheers

why not directly in Rhino?
edit: within eXT I get the same error-message when trying to load it via eXT and within Tracktion it works...
it seems the error-message you get is rather common I've only never experienced it because I never had the idea to load the banks via the hosts' menu - and why should I?
anyway: problem solved - Doug had the right idea.

Great. As explained above, you can also get rid of the problem (even when going through the host menus) if you load the bank via Rhino and save it back (via Rhino again). Then it'll be saved in the updated 2.01 format and the host will be happy with it.
All this mess is because I wanted Rhino 1 and Rhino 2 to coexist, and thus they need to have different plugin ID's.
Ideally Steinberg should update the VST definition, to add (in the fxb format specification) the list of plugin ID's that are compatible with the bank.

You can also drop a fxb file into the bank area to import the whole fxb. Or into the library to import it to ... guess what... the library
It works with fxp files too...
