Hi,

I am looking for a more natural sounding & detail headphone for listening to my mixes. I was so close to buy the Beyerdynamic DT-880 Pro but then a mastering engineer recommended me of the Grado SR125 headphone.

Any comment on this?

Thanks.

I’ve been happily using a set of SR325s for about 15 years. They are quite good although not ideal for certain tasks. I think that they are a bit flattering to the source material, perhaps not very flat freq response. Still they are awesome and after this long i’ve gotten used to them. For just audio appreciation they are my fav cans i’ve owned. I believe the 125s aren’t too much down the grade quality wise. I’ve never owned the 880s but have used them, preferred my 325s but that’s not a very objective test.
Grado also makes excellent (for the cost) phono cartridges.
I’m surprised that Grado isn’t more well known.

I like ( very much ) the Beyerdynamic Custom Studio, I have set the "Variable Bass Reflex System" to Pos. 3 “Vibrant Bass” because I don't like it if a headphone is too bass shy.
