ok, I dont want to be debbie downer here but I think we set a new record....19 reports in the last two pages for off topic...please, my cell phone has already vibrated itself halfway downtown once from notifications...can we give the off topic a break?
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Q: Why do people use multiple DAWs?
A: Because Choice Paralysis is very, very real.

I'm sorry! I just couldn't control myself when I read some posts!
Oh well, back to topic then! What I discover (or re-discover) is that I need to oblige myself on doing something to be able to be productive, otherwise I would be just a spoiled lazy "annoying" kid! So, I'm restricting myself now to just one DAW and I find it really more productive as I'm focused on just doing some music/noise or learning new things or techniques. It also stops me from wasting my time looking at new updates in every DAW I have! I don't know, the more I continue this way, the more I feel that I wasted so much time and money on purchasing/learning DAWs/workflows that in the end didn't participated as I thought in a better music making.
I understand that others need specific DAWs for mixing/mastering though. Also some professionals need those DAWs to for their jobs (making mix for different clients ...etc). Beta testers usually have also more than one DAW. But, for me I'm not one of those, so several DAWs are just distracting for me

You mean it sucked so hard that they had to get multiple other DAW's as compensation?jinotsuh wrote: Sat Jun 06, 2020 11:40 pm Because they tried REAPER and and they found it sucked so they had to get another DAW?

And the more DAW's you try out, the worse it gets. It's probably better to stay in one and be happily ignorant.mholloway wrote: Sat Jun 06, 2020 11:56 pm Q: Why do people use multiple DAWs?

It's easy, just try every available DAW and the best you use!

Well, I can pick anyone of those 4 (Cubase, S1, Bitwig and Live) and feel at home. Maybe Cubase would be the easiest as it is the one that I spent the most with (a decade or so).
Anyway, It is not difficult for me to do music in Reaper, Reason or FL Studio but I won't only concentrate on music but on learning things because they are not the same ease of use for me as the other 4.
The only DAW that I really struggle with is Samplitude. The workflow is not easy for me, although I liked a lot the mixing/mastering plugins inside. It has really high quality plugs, but I'm not that patient to learn it. If I was mixing/mastering engineer, I would definitely invest my time learning it.
So, in the end it seems, Ableton Live wins in the end for me and with such quality hardware (Push 2) and quality software (especially the contents and the built in synths/effects), the learning and producing is so much enjoyable as there are tons of free/commercial resources out there. Their support also is second to none. So responsive and friendly, so it ticks 10 of 10 for me
I don't see the reason for keeping another DAW installed in my PC
