Cubase has a fantastic sample track
Just add a sample to it and you can play it like an instrument.
It even has very good time stretching and pitch shifting that sounds great.
Is there a way to make something like this for reaper?
Don't want to use Cubase artist any more. Has it's issues I really don't like.
May be it can be done I'm reaper to. Would be cool.

Add ReaSamplomatic to a track (it's included with REAPER).
Load one or more samples into it.
Mostly done.

While we don´t want to forget that ReaSamplomatic is by far the worst sampler found in any DAW and it´s lacking completely any deeper integration into the DAW like all other got!!!

Agreed. Reaper needs an integrated sampler of epic proportions to match the rest of Reaper.Trancit wrote: Sun Jun 07, 2020 5:48 pm While we don´t want to forget that ReaSamplomatic is by far the worst sampler found in any DAW and it´s lacking completely any deeper integration into the DAW like all other got!!!
There are two kinds of people in the world. And you're not one of them.

Well then just get tx16wx, maybe the free edition is enough for what you need.

Or Grace, free as well...

I understand they're not natively integrated but.... does it matter so much honestly?

Well if that's what you want, you've already got it. Reasamplomatic matches REAPER to a tee.TheMaestro wrote: Sun Jun 07, 2020 6:09 pm Agreed. Reaper needs an integrated sampler of epic proportions to match the rest of Reaper.

You don´t have any clue what deeper integration in a DAW means, do you??jinotsuh wrote: Sun Jun 07, 2020 11:19 pmWell if that's what you want, you've already got it. I think he might. He probably wanted to point out that he thinks Reaper itself is as crappy, so reasamplomatic is a good fit

I see a pattern here.

Unfortunately, if you think you can get all that functionality 1:1 in Reaper or any other host, you're out of luck.

You are joking, aren´t you!!replicant X wrote: Mon Jun 08, 2020 11:25 am I use Reaper because of MPL RS5k manager and the media explorer.
Any other DAW offers about 1000 times better functionality with their integrated samplers right out of the box...
Somebody stating this as the reason for using Reaper must be a masochist...sorry!

I came to Reaper from Cubase and I like Rs5K. Some features it has, that are not possible in Cubase (at least I couldn't figure it out) -Trancit wrote: Mon Jun 08, 2020 7:16 pm Any other DAW offers about 1000 times better functionality with their integrated samplers right out of the box...
- showing several sampler windows at once - up to 8 sampler windows can be opened on a second screen and you can work on your drum set as whole. For me it's very useful. I find it better for my workflow than using Battery or other drum machines.
-using shortcuts for switching between samples. Let's say I have a large folder full of kicks, I select it in the sampler and can then use two buttons on my MIDI controller for switching them on the selected track. Than closing my eyes and listening for the perfect combination.
-easy modulation of parameters. Assign light LFO/random modulation of pitch, volume or decay. 5 mouse clicks, set and forgotten.
I have to admit I use this sampler for drum samples only. I don't use it for tonal material. For that or extensive looping I would use Kontakt or Iris 2. But for simple one shots it's very fast and powerful.
