Ableton Live 10: Routing MIDI back into itself via M4L. How?

I would like to use a M4L device to send a MIDI out and in command in order to map a specific piece of hardware.

You can see the process in this video however it's on a Mac and I'm PC:


The Mac routing starts at 1:30.

From the comments it sounds like an M4L device MIDI in/out can do the same but I can't seem to find it :shrug:

LoopBe1 is the virtual midi utility I've been using on my PC with Ableton for the last few years - https://www.nerds.de/en/loopbe1.html (I actually have the demo version (loopbe30) but I've never actually used it for consecutively long enough to ever hit the 60 minutes per boot demo restriction!)
