No no. We’ll switch to your choice of DAW right now.
Don’t give up. Please help us.

The sampler track in Cubase is great if you are using a lower sample rate.
Cubase won't allow drag/drop samples on higher rates which is mildly infuriating. I hope they fix that in 11. I'm still on 10.

Have you tried Vital?

You don´t even have any clue what I meant with that but have to make some wise comments...TheMaestro wrote: Tue Jun 09, 2020 4:47 pmNo no. We’ll switch to your choice of DAW right now.

For somebody registered here since less than a half year you have quite a foul mouth...
I wrote before a quite long rant but decided not to bore everybody with my personal opinion (something you should definetely try out...
Did this help you out???
Second: Everybody thinking RS5K (with or without mpl script) would be fine as an alternative to what others offer is crazy... and there is no argument against that... it lacks even the simplest features...
There are of course people who don´t have the need for more features but this doesn´t mean RS5K would be on par/sufficient with/compared to all the others...
And this is my last posting on this topic...

I am a 100% samplist and will always grab the sampler before a synthesizer, I don't think anybody is going to claim RS5K as a monster sampling plugin, but in terms of simple track based sampler, It is actually extremely good, the UI is terrible and not just in the usual Reaper "It looks like win 3.11" way either, it is literally a complete mess, even ADSR is in the wrong order, it needs a complete UI overhaul but actually very few features to be a great track sampler.

It doesn't really make sense to package a powerful sampler with REAPER because a decent factory library would increase the installer size x10.
Agree that an RS5k GUI touch-up would be good, and could be done without violating the overall feel/spirit of REAPER.

It's not about Reaper shipping with a huge sample library.
ReaVerb doesn't come with gigabytes of IRs either and yet it pretty much offers what you could wish for a good convo reverb without a need to reach for something else most of the time.
Just a bit more capable “basic sampler“
And if they decide to also add a decent sample library, they could add them as an additional download like it's done in Geist, or TAL Sampler, for those who want that content.
But a big library isn't what makes a sampler capable
