Etiquette question - how long to wait for buyer?

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I have a question I wanted to get some thoughts on. I received a marketplace offer to buy software that I accepted, and provided the buyer with my PP address. The buyer did not respond and to date has not sent the funds. I have sent 2x follow-up PMs with no response, and its been about 36 hours since the last contact.
Assuming that the buyer continues to not respond, what do you guys think is an appropriate amount of time to wait before treating the buyer as no longer interested and reaching out to the other folks that have made offers?

I've got a reply i sent to a potential buyer still in the outbox from may27. The buyer had 650 posts over the last 6 years and has not been back on kvr since I sent that reply. I'm more worried about the buyer than about the sale given the pandemic. But I would think 3 days then send a response giving 24 hours before it is put back for sale. I would let the other buyers know that

I think it is good practice to agree on timeframe in advance.
I wanted to buy plugin from someone here, and they said they already processing with someone else. And they told that if they did not finish deal in nearest 24 hours then i will have a chance to buy.
The seller did not lie: they comeback in lees than the time agreed and said plugin gone.
Very smooth experience and zero stress.

Are you saying you took it off the market once they said they wanted it and 36 hours have passed? I would only mark it sold once they paid me.
If I got other offers while in limbo I’d say ‘hang on for a bit’ (and eschew bumping the thread), but 36 hrs? I’m done. Either they are inconsiderate or they ran into a problem.

Yes, the above is basically correct. I haven’t actually marked it sold yet but I have told others that have inquired that I have a sale pending and haven’t discussed further with them. Per the system the buyer has also actually read my PMs and not responded. I am trying to be very careful not to sell to someone else only to have the original buyer send money and end up in an ugly situation. I like the idea of sending a “if I don’t hear from you in 24 hours I will assume no longer interested,” but I wasn’t sure how long to wait before sending that kind of message.jancivil wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2020 12:18 am Are you saying you took it off the market once they said they wanted it and 36 hours have passed?
