Example. Question, often from someone brand new to the forum, looking for advice:

"I'm looking for a compressor that has great snap"

Us:

"You should check out SNAPcomp 2"

"XYZ developers released TheSnap a few months back"

"Don't forget that ABC compressor has a Snap control"

Guys, they're looking for good compressors with a slower attack, that's all

This happens all the time and it's not that helpful - we're better than that. Sorry if I seem grumpy today <3

What's even more annoying is when it just turns into what everyone's favorite plugin is regardless of the question...

Definitely by the 2nd or 3rd page it becomes a favs pile-on - with the Original Poster and their request long gone from the convo... I've been guilty of this too - infact I do something else quite annoying and that is I sometimes hijack the thread and pull it in a different direction. But I think, if the OP isn't contributing, why not...

Also to be fair a lot of advice requests are quite vague - such as "Need an alternative to TrackSpacer"... several pages later uhhh what's wrong with TrackSpacer? Hello, is anyone there? Crickets...
