All answers can be male/female, solo artists/Groups/Bands, any skin color, hip-hop genres (read: mention crunk at your own risk!!!) from any locations around the world (yes, that include the U.K.).

Just organize your answers by decades:

1980's

1990's

2000's

Plus Bonus Question: To you, who is the best rapper ever?
Now answers to my own questions:

1980's: Run DMC, LL Cool J, Eric B. & Rakim, N.W.A., Public Enemy, The Geto Boys, A Tribe Called Quest, KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane, Heavy D, Salt 'N Pepa, Ice Cube, 2 Live Crew, DJ Magic Mike

1990's: 2pac, Busta Rhymes, Shoop Dogg, The Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Dr. Dre, Timberland & Missy

2000's: OutKast, Jay-Z, Eminem, The Neptunes (N.E.R.D.), The Black Eye Peas

I'll need Rakim, KRS-One, & 2pac to battle to help me decide who I think is the best rapper ever. 8)

:dog: How could I forget Busta Rhymes - he's brilliant when at his best (though he can be variable).

Also Jungle Bros deserve a mention.

80's
Rakim, BDP, Public Enemy, EPMD, Slick Rick, Biz Markie, Beastie Boys, De La Soul, MC Lyte (Paperthin... that is the rawest oldskool track with a lady rockin' it ever), Audio Two (ok, they sucked hardcore, but Top Billin' is a classic).

90's
Del, Souls of Michief, Casual, Pharcyde (Bizarre Ride), A Tribe Called Quest (Midnight Marauders, Low End Theory, and People's instictive travels), Gang Starr, Jeru, Group Home, Roots, Black Moon, Mobb Deep, Snoop, KMD, Wu-Tang (Gza! Rakwon!), Organized Konfusion (Monche!!!), Outkast, Blackalicious, Brand Nubian...

00's
MF Doom... beyond that I have no idea... 95+ and hiphop took a turn for the worse IMO... every once in a while I stumble on something, but I'm pretty bored by most of it now a days. I'm sure there are good underground artist out there, but I fell out of the loop... and started getting into other stuff. :?

we like quite a few of the same artist (tho, you've got some I'd pass on... :P (dream warriors? c'mon man, they sucked! :hihi: ) I grew up on all of this stuff.. maybe that's why I don't like the new stuff cos I'm getting older (32).

BTW, I forgot to answer the best rapper ever award... this is impossible cos there are just too many, but Pharoah Monche is just sick.

We need a Classic Rap Radio Station to fill that void. I miss the ways of the Old-School. 8)

And Blondie.

Debbie Harry invented rap. Did you know that. And Mike Skinner's keeping the faith.
