I'm fine thanks.
I've been doing some other paid work so not spent too much time on Analogy lately.
However, a lot of the things I wanted to do are now in place and I might post an update shortly.

adsr2. Fast envelope
Low shelf filter
High shelf filter
Bandpass filter
OTA ZDF ladder filter
GUI size increase by 22% for better legibility and some snazzy new graphics
Some new presets

Hi Kirsty.

First of all: thanks for your synths. All the time and effort that must have gone into these FREE gems...

Have to say: this one really sounds great. Great choice of modules and functionality, well designed and implemented. Even offers polyphony. All that in glorious 64-bit (though I don't mind using 32-bit gems). And it, last but not least, it even looks great.

I have checked out hundreds of free synths, older and new ones. I did check out Patchwork, but somehow never got to explore Analogy. I will now!

I installed the 64-bit Beta. I have not encountered major glitches yet. I did notice that at higher signal levels it sometimes seems to clip or distort. Not a unique "feature" for these sorts of complex things.

Analogy has a limiter built into the Output module to try and prevent clipping, however, as with any true modular synth where you can plug any output into any input it's quite possible to overload the signal before it even reaches the output stage.

Thanks for taking the time to react. Again, I have great respect for people (like you) who put in a lot of time and effort to provide total strangers (like me) with great free tools. For some this is the only way to get to synths and FX.

Anyway..

Yesterday, I ran through the presets, which are generally great. Also great you provide practical examples of usefull concepts.

To start, I have been playing around with a basic 2 oscillators setup (freerunning) with a common AMP EG). Connected a Voltage control to set the detuning in great detail. I fed that in to some of the various filters (with a common Filter cutoff EG). And the results are really great. I was especially impressed when setting the oscillators to pulse and connecting a voltage source to PWM and play with various (fixed) Pulse Widths.

I'll try some of the Polyphonics modules later. The presets are promising. It would (of course) be great if all modules would support polyphony. Like e.g. Full Bucket Music - Modulair.

Check out Nils Frahm and Ólafur Arnalds. Both are into electro classical music and very inspirational. Their electronic music relies heavily on the Roland Juno 60 and the Roland Space Echo.

I don't know if i've done something wrong but when i load the plugin into Bitwig it crashes? Any way to fix this?

In the past some people reported Analogy didn't work in Bitwig for them either. I never did find out why.

How didn't I had found this before? Awesome piece of work. I just checked the first row of presets and I smiled at least 3 times. I really look forward to have time to burn learning to program this thing.

I'm just making some more presets before I upload the current version then I'll investigate why some hosts, like Ableton, won't work with it.

I found a quirk, I don't know if intended or not.

I installed with a 20x3 size (I tried and it happens with 15x4). If I load a patch that in a given row has a rightmost module wider that the columns left to the right border, it will make the excess columns of that module innaccessible. Clickable image follows:

I guess that the right solution is to have dynamic rows/columns (boring GUI coding, hint AFAIK Surge allows resizing, is VSTGUI based and allows resizing) or just fixing e.g. 15x4 for everyone.

BTW, an interesting module would be just one with audio inputs from the DAW.

EDIT: Later I found that I can just move the offending module by dragging and dropping, so this is mostly a non-issue.

The GUI is designed to do this on purpose.
Part of a module disappearing off the right side is like part of a module moving off the top or bottom when you scroll up and down.
Originally there was a horizontal scroll bar on the bottom of the screen.

I've got an interesting idea for navigating around the rack without using any scroll bars that I want to try out.
