Just got confirmation that Komplete 8 and some earlier ones should also be authorizable through NA. It's just installation of content that is supported from Komplete 9 onwards.

Luckily it seems Kore sound packs don't actually need activating (although Kore 2 itself does). You can just copy content over from one drive to another and as long as you haven't missed anything and add the new paths to the samples they don't ask to be activated even if technically they do have serials.EvilDragon wrote: Thu May 28, 2020 8:38 pm All the stuff from your list except I think Kore soundpacks should work.

Ha then that's fine.
It might be they did that intentionally in the last Kore 2 update.

I don’t understand what the big deal about this announcement is..?
Upgrade to the latest version and problem is solved.

Well for a start because for several of these products there isn't a latest version.Atlatnesiti wrote: Fri May 29, 2020 2:51 pm I don’t understand what the big deal about this announcement is..?

Does that mean that I can install as normal from my installation disks.. that is; programs and content and simply activate it with na as I would have with service center previously?EvilDragon wrote: Fri May 29, 2020 11:18 am Just got confirmation that Komplete 8 and some earlier ones should also be authorizable through NA. Not a big deal to me. When I want permanent I buy hardware. NI is following Microsoft model. Office will no longer activate after so many installs. You need to go to subscription model - Microsoft 365. In fact I prefer subscription model - you always have the latest and newest software like Sounds Online (East-West) and Adobe.
There are apps like FL Studio and Reaper that work forever.

There was no hardware equivalent for large multisample libraries when they were first released
Not a good comparison. Old documents can be opened wih newer software versions, it isn't so important to have the "same" software as it is for audio plugins.NI is following Microsoft model. Office will no longer activate after so many installs.

Reaper works "forever" because it uses a simple authentication method that doesn't require Cockos to maintain secret sauce at their end. If NI had done the same, we wouldn't be here. There are apps like FL Studio and Reaper that work forever.

That's the reason we're meanwhile using LibreOffice for secretarial work and for graphics Gimpshop. And for my music I'll never use software with subsription model, because I don't need hundreds of plugins and latest and newest software is basic requirement! Finally we have 2020 and I wont go back to hardware, only because some companies are thinking, they can make their customers dependent with subsription crap!C-note wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2020 5:19 am Not a big deal to me. It's Kore packs that keeps me on edge with NI.aMUSEd wrote: Fri May 29, 2020 11:45 amLuckily it seems Kore sound packs don't actually need activating (although Kore 2 itself does). No, there are no 'upgrades' I could opt for. I bought them as the soundpacks that they are so never thought about losing them until this change in policy.
