I kid you not...that was what the guy said!
Goa Head:
The oldest "GoaHead" comp I got is nr 6...guess it's from 98 or so.
This is where it get's annoying tho:
A while ago I bought a CD named "Goa V4" from a label called "Yellow Sunshine Explosion" or something like that
Every bleedin' track on the 2 CDs were pure psy-tranc_e...not as much a a grain of buddism but pure european music. And yet the cover said "the leaders of the "goa style"
It was obviously a marketing thing because if the cover had said: "The leaders of psy" ppl would have ignored it...Goa is a buzzword and the real meaning of it as a music style and an island as been lost... I guess that you could say that "Goa" isn't trance...it's a marketing buzzword.

Goa is a marketing scheme, now, yes... The style known as Goa kinda died around 1999, yet many people still prefer that style over the new psy-t*ance. I guess they just to appeal to that crowd. Eh, what can you expect! All post 2001 releases that say Goa anywhere on the cover is probably gonna be lame!

I used to work with a couple of guys who were real assholes. They were always joking around, cutting everyone down, hurling verbal and physical abuse every which way. It was all in good fun, as if we were supposed to be closer friends if we treated each other like shit. Eventually they crossed one too many lines, I made a formal complaint, and they were both fired.
Food for thought...

So you named yourself after, and launched yourself into the defense of, a musical (sic) genre that you dont even like.Goa Head wrote: Goa is a marketing scheme, now, yes... Actually the CD is good and there are some big names on it...just no goa style music with indian/buddhism influences.splattabreakz wrote:but you can't expect a cd which has the claim "leaders of the goa style" on it to actually be any good now, can you?mindless wrote:A while ago I bought a CD named "Goa V4" from a label called "Yellow Sunshine Explosion" or something like that

it's a bit like when you go down the market and see some jeans for £5 labelled "fashion jeans"
It's all european style psy.
