Upcoming Synapse OB-Xa: Obsession

So i posted some Synth Brass demos and around 90% of comments so far are from people who seem to hate Synth Brass sounds. That was not really what i intended when i posted the demos but i did EXPECT that the usual "Synth Brass haters" will post such comments.
IMHO such sounds are an essential part of what analog polysynths are about and most of the famous analog polysynths seemed to be quite popular for such sounds.

You mean that set of demos? Only BOnes has said something negative about them, no?Ingonator wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2020 11:34 am So i posted some Synth Brass demos and around 90% of comments so far are from people who seem to hate Synth Brass sounds. Others are mostly joking about FInal Coutdown where i do not see a direct relation to my own demos except that a Synth Brass sound was used there but i get the impression that those guys are also joking about Synth Brass sounds in general. Of course i could be wromg about that.revvy wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2020 11:41 am You mean that set of demos? Only BOnes has said something negative about them, no?
FWIW i don't really agree that the sounds used in Jump and Final Countdown are really that bad like some comments here might make you think. Different tastes i guess and i am a fan of that kind of sounds anyway...

i have nothing against any particular type of synth sound. they all have their use/places.

i dont even hate the songs, i just probably wouldnt choose to play them. hair metal wasnt my thing back then, i was a 14 year old death metal kid, so i have no attachment to such songs.

Guess i might be known as the guy who always does Synth Brass sounds (and with OBsession it was quite obvious to do those...) but i have done a lot of other stuff in OBsession too (and also in other synths...) while not all patches are part of the factory content.

What I loved most in the OB series and am looking forward to most in Obsession are indeed pads and synth brass, so thanks.

Ok then, I was in mcr waiting in 86 for the mad epithet to be added. Saw the Roses play once at the Hac, Hillsborough benefit, but didn't go across to Spike Island.vurt wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2020 12:06 pmmadchester was a few years later, if final countdown was 86?revvy wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2020 12:03 pmI was in Madchester then, hated all rock musicvurt wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2020 11:56 ami dont even hate the songs, i just probably wouldnt choose to play them. hair metal wasnt my thing back then, i was a 14 year old death metal kid, so i have no attachment to such songs.

I'll try to post some more pads demos later. Just started with those.zvenx wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2020 12:03 pm What I loved most in the OB series and am looking forward to most in Obsession are indeed pads and synth brass, so thanks.

Warning: Some of them might be a bit "unusual" and/or not "typical OB-Xa".
