Hi,

Is there any software in this existence that recognizes all the separate drums hits from the audio track (mono/stereo file) and translates those to MIDI notes?

I'd like to get some fills (and grooves) played by Levon Helm, Ringo Starr, Charlie Watts, Gene Krupa, etc. to my MIDI Drum folder.

Just wondering... and hoping... and dreaming...
Optimal number of audio plugins is one more than you currently have.

Some DAWs can do it but this looked interesting.

Even there's a guitar, bass, keyboards and vocals on the track?

I've been playing with this feature in Studio One, but it doesn't identity what the hits are - just where they are. Lesound Groove looks interesting, but I couldn't find a video about it anywhere.
If every KVR member wrote one review a year we'd have 1340 reviews each day!

SLATE TRIGGER from Steven Slate does a good job when you have the drums on individual tracks. If you have the time and dedication you COULD do several passes on a stereo drum track, but you'd need to know exactly what each "hit/peak" was for what instrument ie; snare kik etc. Trigger has a wide sensitivity adjustment, but maybe it's not what you require.

There are quite a few plugins that do this and they can do it pretty well. They often can't differentiate between different cymbals and may have issues with ghost notes and such. Most just use filtering and envelope followers (like a vocoder that's tuned especially for drums instead of vocals) to generate the midi events.
