strange topic? no.
and yes i am so called person with a disability (highest score in my country, so full.. in that view i am high in pecking order (deleted here some personal info, that i don't mind sharing, but it diverts from the topic)).
i added to the topic, low income countries (it is a nicer term? than...). for instance melda production has a special price for a list of countries, for "low income users". a great gesture.
i only now of steinberg, that the EDU version is also available for persons with a disability (above 50%). i bought it that way, or started that way with cubase. (it ís stated on their website, but quite hidden, was glad i found it, by accident. it made my way to cubase.)
everything is polarized now and extremely political. but me thinks, especially for "low income users" it is great that it is being offered. and for disabled persons, in a western country.
are there any other companies known that do this? besides the 2 i know (i know a third one, but i think i can't share it, which company. they reacted positive, and it wasn't stated on their website).

it'd be good - some DAWs are accessible for blind and visually impaired users - normally I think because the community has built an extension to the DAW rather than the devs are doing much themselves. Here's a page of useful links

this an excellent expansion of my post. and blind/visually impaired users, when they have disability benefits, or a percentage of disability, can get also a discount for steinberg EDU stuff. but this is not the thread of steinberg, it is the thread for, with your reaction, people with disabilities, some people can't use their hands. for solutions, accessible in 2 ways, for your handicap and money-wise.
i don't am not blind or visually impaired, so i have forgotten this. thank you!
(changed the topic title.)

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

ive never even thought to enquire.
registered as "severely disabled" myself.
personally domt feel the need, as i do ok cash wise, but i understand that some peoples disability can diminish funds due to other needs.
good to see se companies taking it on board

my disability benefits, aren't that bad, because my disability "erupted" while i had work.vurt wrote: Thu Jun 18, 2020 2:19 pm ive never even thought to enquire.

...and death comes with money... (yes my worldview ain't exactly pretty.. but í am pretty, o well i am walking (if dare to go walking..) whatever!)
in my country i am registered as an percentage... the highest category... o well..
and by the way, never glad to hear, that one is disabled. i still can have pleasure in my live, even if am a shadow of myself. but still a shadow that can do things and has goals.. i hope you have pleasure in your life also, on KVR you are the joy...!
perhaps more companies can join in. and: ask it, and maybe they grant it, it worked for me (still processing by the way..).
and yes, we've got lucky, with cash. but other people with disabilities, not. i know some people.
and also this thread is about low income (countries).
that companies are charity organizations, i am not naive... (i was a culture philosopher.. o well, there are naive philosophers...), but try it! when you want to buy it! o that is a slogan, for the word that must not be mentioned.... try it: e-mail the company!
so praise to steinberg, and melda production. and the third company. i can ask if i can mention it..
praise! vurt! (i expect a wordplay/swordplay).
don't know any other company.

yeah its no fun in itself, and current events arent helping, but i keep myself happy making noises and causing trouble here
in normal times, i venture out, not a great deal but enough to keep me socially motivated
and dont praise me, im just a man, like any other.
except that guy, im not like him

o i don't meant to praise you! sorry...vurt wrote: Thu Jun 18, 2020 2:52 pm yeah its no fun in itself, and current events arent helping, but i keep myself happy making noises and causing trouble here

yes you cause trouble here! and i praise you for that! i like KVR, i learn things, but sometimes. o well...
no never fun in itself, therefore this thread. the loss we have of abilities, can never be payed back, by discounts, but why not use them. or approach a company.
i can know say, that a company, i asked for an EDU discount, they immediately reacted positive, of course they wanted proof, i gave them the documents, and could even buy it via a reseller, cheaper.
so it is worth to ask.
and for so called low-income countries, only melda has a special "program" for it, i think this will be step, that many companies won't make. perhaps i am wrong, perhaps in certain countries, the price is lower. i hope so.
we live in full capatilistic world, i state a fact, don't say say more, nudge nudge.
but i still hope. ecquality is about accessibilty, not about newspeak, or absolute relativism, but about accesibility for every individual. (strangely that it looks like capatilistic slogan..)
o well. it is a strange, strange world.........
