I just bought the Electric guitars sonik capsule. After loading it to sampletank format, the files were 2gb , they are listed as 400mb, should I delete the STIP files? why are they there along with the sampletank format samples? Also the sounds from the capsule aren't being seen by the ST1le browser, do sonik capsules only work in ST2?

Woah. Okay. First, Sonik Capsules are in ST2 format. We don't support ST1 anymore. We like to continue support for the latest versions of sample formats.
The UFO expands the single disc of sounds into a 2 gig library for ST2 with additional sounds, variations, fx and more. Don't get rid of the STIPs as these are extra preset files! For the Electric Guitar Capsule they take advantage of ST2's built-in AmpliTube fx with separate models of preamps, tone control, cabinets plus stomp fx. However, please do not confuse the STIP "child presets" (as they are called) with "Combi" presets (which are not included in this collection). "Combi presets" are presets that are a snapshot of the whole module. THOSE kind of presets are stored in the "ST2 Presets" folder. They are .IKMP files (IK module presets).
.STIP files should be with the other regular sound files that are output with the UFO such as the .STI, STW and STH files (.STP files are for stretch- preanalysis files). DO NOT put the STIP files into the ST2Presets folder as ONLY .IKMP files will work and be read when placed into this folder. The STIPS need to be with the STI, STH, STW etc. files (as they are output).
Basically, ALL you have to do is take the folder that was output (all of it) and drag the whole thing into your "ST2Instruments" folder. Then, next time you open up ST2 you hit the relist button and there they are! Load them up and click on the black arrows to see those additional child presets. Have fun with your pretty darn HUGE ST2 guitar library!
Incidentally, all of this is explained both in the Sonik Capsule ReadMe files and a lot of information in the ST2 manual about relisting and file locations.
Anyway, enjoy the sounds.

I've done all this, I can't even get ST2 to see the ST sounds!! Am I supposed to set up a root file or something? the manual says that the sounds load automatically. All the sounds are in the ST2 preset folder but nothing is showing up.

I own the Electric Guitar capsule as well and had absolutely no problems getting ST2 to see the samples. As mentioned before, set your STInstruments directory in ST2's Preferences window, then hit Relist to scan for new instruments. That's really all it takes!

I got the sound list to show up but and each sound I select comes up but when I trigger the sample they all make a fluttering zippery sound, no sample, any idea why? my other VSTis work fine. Is ST incompatible with tracktion?
