brown isn't what I would consider "colorful"

Indeed... I take everything positive I've said in this matter back. There. Swallowed.

Perhaps this puts me next in the line of fire, who knows.

Talk about wasted efforts.

I was trying to come up with something witty along the lines of "... and after me saying the other party shot himself in the foot, the opposite brought out a cannon and made his entire battallion legless"... see, I lost everything, from sad attempts at humor to my ability to write long posts of meaningless stream of consciousness.

There's nothing wrong with defending an associate. Just make sure they aren't in the middle of career suicide when you endorse them with your approval..

Thats really discussable.
The reason for the bigger and bigger growing GUIs are at leat a result of the user requests, I believe.

Now, that the many VSTs and the really big screenshots became (logically) more and more a problem, now suddenly it is OK to do multi page design...

But if a product is ready, then it is ready. The conceptual work of a well designed GUI must be done at an early stage. If the users at this point don't really know what they want, then its finally too late anywhen.

So it would be very helpful, if the suggestions of the users are somehow more "thought" before they are given to the developers.

Sometimes I get the impression that many users come to such conclusions merely after the first impression (shortly open th plug and immediately closing it and start a rant), than after really working with the software.

Thus, it leads to the "neverending rants" we have now here.

well, I can't speek for the rest of the users...however, there are ways to use both a multipage gui and one page interface at the same time.

think about z3ta or ZynAddSubFX..those synths have all relevant info on one page and when you click on an edit button, up pops a new window...no new pages at all and you can yourself organise your screen space...how about it?
