Congrats Synapse! I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time. Bought it right away without even watching the demo video, and it doesn’t disappoint. Haven’t had much time with it yet but what I’ve heard so far sounds fantastic. I also like Arturia’s version so it’ll be interesting to compare them when I get a chance.
One thing I did notice is Obsession seems to use a lot less CPU than OB-Xa V. Maybe it automatically uses multiple cores?

I like the square-ish layout. I can fit two of these side by side without scaling them down. Most plugin UIs are too wide because of the unnecessary keyboard (as if anyone is going to click keys with a mouse) and insistence on trying to look like real hardware.Richard_Synapse wrote: Sat Jun 20, 2020 3:50 pmThis is the reason btw why the GUI has similar proportions like The Legend does.

In case you think that i only got 2 Lead sounds in the OBSession presets (as found in the "Leads" folder) there a bunch of additional ones in the "Vintage" folder at the browser...
Some more are in my free download at the Soundware forum.

Is 'Duel Mode' working as expected? (I am on the demo) - Its great that 'part mix' can be modulated (I can see a lot of potential with that) but I cant seem to load 2 different patches to A and B
I have tried copying from 2 open instances but this seems very long winded and didn't work anyway, you cant select another patch from the menu as it just resets to single mode- is this a demo restriction or am I missing something.

Thanks- Looks a powerful feature, pity that can't be fully demoed (I don't think there are any duel or split pre-sets in the demo) but you can make your own A/B which is what I did to test the modulation between A/B.

First it is important to know that only the Osc/Filter/envelope settings can be copied from another patch while other parameters like e.g. modulation, mod matrix and FXs are global.SLiC wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 9:33 am Is 'Duel Mode' working as expected? A way to create a Dual patch from 2 single patches is this:
- Load a single patch in the 1st instance of OBsession
- if needed change voices to 16 (right-click menu or the Dual/Split modes drop-down menu)
- At the drop-down menu in the upper left select "Dual"
- open a 2nd instance of OBsession
- load another single patch in the 2nd instance
- in the 2nd instance click on "copy part" in the right-click menu
- go back to the 1st instance and open part B there (by clicking at "B")
- click on "paste part" from the right-click menu which adds the OSc/Filter/enveleop settings of teh second patch to Part B of the first instance
- you can flip the parts with "swap parst" from the right click menu
- in this example the modulation + mod matrix + FX settings from the first instance/patch will be used. The volume knob is global too but you got the balance fader to adjust the volume of the parts.
This sounds complicated at a first look but gets very easy when you get used to it.

I CAN read but i explained it for those who are interested in how it works...
FWIW If the load or copy/paste feature does not work in the demo you can still test the Dual feature by editing Part B manually.

Replika XT is my go-to delay too. It’s in my default song template in both Ableton Live and Logic. Not sure what it is about it. It’s relatively simple, but I always get exactly the result I want from it with minimal fuss. I have tons of different delay effects and they all have their interesting points but for whatever reason I often just go back to Replika XT.chk071 wrote: Sat Jun 20, 2020 10:30 pmFor the delay, I definitely use my preferred external delay (Replika XT), and for the chorus, I use NI Choral.

So far i did not notice a difference between the updated one and the one in the factory presets.Ghostwave wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 9:54 am Richard forgot to replace my old version of the "Jump" preset with the newer one.
So I'll include it here. Have fun.
I have also compared the parameters.

For me it's simply the best sounding. Most delays I tried either dampened the sound too much, saturated, or had some weird low and hi cut filters. Even the highly praised (here...) Valhalla Delay doesn't at all reach the sound of Replika.Arashi wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 9:57 amReplika XT is my go-to delay too. It’s in my default song template in both Ableton Live and Logic. Thanks- that was what I tried (followed the manual) but it doesn't work in demo mode and I have to say, seems very convoluted in its 'working' implementation. In Rapid etc I can just load a different pre-set to a different layer from the same instance/pre-set browser. Perhaps this is something that will improve overtime.Ingonator wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 9:55 amI CAN read but i explained it for those who are interested in how it works...

In the non-demo version I assume splits and layers can be saved as split and layer pre-sets so they load with 2 patches in?
Overall I am very impressed with the sound. As a few people have e already said its not quite as cut and dry as to if you just need this or Arturia OB-XA-V etc, they are quite different, the function generator and more expansive effects and additional multimode filter can make a big difference, but when its just a simple 'Brass' or 'Sweep' type sound Synapse has it hands down.
