Now there's a pleasure I might never experience having only free software to play with.

ive realised i may need a few more long cables as i get the last rack filled

hard to guage what lengths youre gonna need nost of, or whether its worth just going all long from here, even if it means lots of dangling loose loops when i use a 2 foot cable for a 6 inch connection

This is a new problem for me as I'm just branching out into the hardware world... trying to imagine all possible connections ahead of time for the most amount of flexibility while not having to make space for dangling loops.

The what-if scenarios f**k it all up, and then where to store all the extra cables so they don't impede my regular workflow.

Then its a matter of having all the different cable types too, plus mono to stereo/stereo to mono plus stereo to stereo split, TS, TRS, TRRS, and adapter for midi connections to/from 3.5mm.

I was already complaining about the different types of USB and Lightening cables, but once it's all working the world melts away so its worth it.

And then the day comes, when you are so sick of having to look at the computer, you branch out to gateway synths where you find out how much you like it, that you get more and more and when you realize you've fallen down that rabbit hole, its too late!

Cables are a pain, and I’m never willing to drop $300 on cables just to correct the problem of mismatching and whatnot.
I found a great place for them, luigis out of Denver had some great modular cables for cheap. Unfortunately they closed down 4 ever.

I had a Waldorf MicroQ that I sold last year that I want to re-buy sometime this year and will definitely keep around. One of the very best sounding synths IMO and no idea when it'll ever exist as a plugin. Same for the Novation Supernova, but that's a bit less of a priority.

I also have a U87 clone microphone that I'm thinking of selling off to make way for a 251-mic.

I have a Chase Bliss Blooper, I think it's great. Inspirational and fun. Ingenious interface (the common Chase Bliss interface + 2 extra knobs with LEDs, on the fore panel). Expensive but AFAIK peerless.

I wound up with cables in 6, 12, 18 and 24 inch lengths. The 24s are just slightly too short to reach from corner to corner of my modular rack, so I sometimes have to patch them through Shades or something to make them reach.

The next size up is 36", and those would hang down so low from my cable hanger that they'd be tempting chew toys for the dogs

That's what I thought when looking around. Just crazy what you can do with this on the fly and seems very well thought out... Like you say "ingenious interface."

I was originally looking at MOOD and figured it be priced similarly, but after saying no and then looking for other creative pedals... I'm not seeing as much that fits with what I like compared to what Blooper does.

So which do you vote for?

I think I'd be torn between the two (and would wonder why we can't just have both).

And back on the cable topic... I just got some of my cables from Musician's Friend. I've got my first pedal routed flexibly through the interface but then realized I still hadn't received the other TS cables for the guitar. I'm down to one that just started becoming a noisy f**ker on its own.

These guys have good prices sometimes, but shipping speed is the worst.

All these notices for music stores opening again today for the first time in months, but I still don't want to go inside any store.

I have to have the 6ft modular cables for the Pro 3. Definitely it would have been nice to have that cv IO on the face of the thing, like
they are on the hydra synth. :/

i want some cross fader mixers, similar to rosie from make noise, but just the two ins and an out, no need for the aux/send/headphone or jack output

cv controlled would be sweet.

Wound up cancelling my order for the EMW FFB. I found a Make Noise FxdF instead, which is what I wanted in the first place but they weren't available at the time.

...as it turns out, the FFB already shipped and is not cancelled. So I'll wind up with both of them, and will compare them and keep the one(s) I like best.
