X-Pan is awesome for that... I need a couple more of them actually.vurt wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 7:06 pm i want some cross fader mixers, similar to rosie from make noise, but just the two ins and an out, no need for the aux/send/headphone or jack output
cv controlled would be sweet.

yeah, i like cross fading beyween cvs eg a seq and an lfo to pitch, as well as crossfading audio.
they also come in handy for any fx that doesnt have wet/dry
so will be wanting possibly 8 all together, dont know if theres 2 on each module? havent looked yet...
also might add a couple each of kinks and links, handy to have little utilities

^ yeah only 2, and there are plenty cheaper options. It’s kind of unique tho as it’s vca based I guess, 10 vcas in it. The quality is very good and it has an aux channel with vca to mix in something else, which I use constantly. I use it as a final mixer.

Mood vs Blooper?elxsound wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 6:43 pm
I was originally looking at MOOD and figured it be priced similarly, but after saying no and then looking for other creative pedals... I'm not seeing as much that fits with what I like compared to what Blooper does.
So which do you vote for?
Mood is a microlooper, I haven't fully explored it, have been using it as an advanced alternative to freeze effects.
Blooper is different, a real looper, quite an adventurous one, with a number of effects.
As far as I can tell ATM, I'd keep the Blooper if I was forced to part with one of them.
I own a Boss 5 track looper with effects, I use it with synths and love its directness and simplicity, but it's another kind of beast. The Blooper is more than a traditional looper, it almost feels like a musical partner at times.
(They should add a Bedroom Blooper. "Oops!" "Hehe that tickles!" "Bad gateway!")

Bought more than I expected already this year, but a nice assortment of goodies.
Behringer TD-3 - Lots of fun so far, but i'm pretty slow learning how to use the sequencer. Probably going to try and use it with something like a beatstep pro
Boss DR-660 - Got a good deal on and old dirty one with a dead battery, really digging the sounds on it. Will also end up using it with the BSP.
Boss ME-80 - Wanted to have some hands on learning with various effects and how they work. Only tested it with a guitar so far but plan on running some synths through it soon.
No immediate plans to buy anything else, unless something should come along at a great deal. Maybe something like a patchbay eventually to have everything organized, but for now I'm good.

Final piece of the jigsaw for my small hardware live setup will arrive next week. Although Iv'e had one before a few years ago I had missed my Korg Radias so today I bought another in pristine condition.

Absolutely stunning synth

...or one could use the PC software sequencer, which is pretty intuitive.jisatsu_koui wrote: Tue Jun 23, 2020 5:15 pm Behringer TD-3 - Lots of fun so far, but i'm pretty slow learning how to use the sequencer. Probably going to try and use it with something like a beatstep pro

I put most of this years gear budget into an ARP 2600 FS... which has still not arrived.
It'll get here some day.
I've picked up a few other toys in the meantime... I'll see about posting some pics later.

Vermona DRM-1 and Sherman Filterbank. Gnarly drum destruction.

Echo Fix EF-X2 tape delay with spring reverb and DSP Chorus/Reverb. It's a thing of beauty in terms of sound and appearance. Incredibly low noise when using the balanced line live I/O.

Hologram Microcosm. It's like if you put Chase Bliss' Blooper and Mood in one pedal... Kinda. It does looping with vari-speed, it does granular stuff, it does all sorts of buffer shuffling. Stereo I/O, MIDI control of most parameters. Pairs well with ZOIA (using ZOIA to modulate Microcosm via MIDI).

The top pedal board is for synths and drums, the bottom for guitar.
Under the guitar pedal board, there is a Voodoo Labs Hex, which allows me to use MIDI to bypass pedals which don't have MIDI. The 4x4 matrix mixer distributes CV to expression inputs on various pedals. The Selah Quartz keeps all the tempo based pedals in sync. Even without a guitar connected, the sounds I get from this setup are mesmerizing.

I just added my email for the next batch of Hologram Microcosm pedals.
I still really like Blooper but it’s hard not to also compare the price to features. Plus I think Microcosm might be a better fit for me as my 2nd pedal
Lovely gear and f**king gorgeous photos.

What’s the pedal in the upper left of your synths/drums board?
Never mind... I just stumbled on it. The Empress Zoia, which might have to become my 3rd pedal.

couple of doepfer modules, a cross fader and a cross fader/panner.
they only had one of each.
wanted the cross fade functions mainly, but the odd pan option might come in handy too
eg panning between two different filters or fx chains.

With the mrs b-day coming, I'm okay with the waiting list ensuring I will not die an early death. And I don't think I could bring myself to Homer Simpson it up (bowling ball) without a similar result. So many important lessons learned from cartoons.vurt wrote: Thu Jun 25, 2020 1:40 pm yeah that zoia is a thing of beauty!
