^ absolute truth unfortunately. I find it best to keep others in the dark these days publically, doesn't help me to help them and is rarely appreciated. My help goes to PMs if I feel inclined, keeps the rifraf away.IncarnateX wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 9:32 pm Brandolini’s law seems to apply to standard Reason threads: "The amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it." I better get off again before I confuse more “users” with facts.

Thought his name was Brandolini, not -doloni, and that he was a programmer, not an actor.
But what raving idiot am I to fight for facts on the internet? Mea Culpa. Whip, whip, whip.

Maybe dial down the condescension, lose the I am really smart attitude and just explain what you mean. If you lay something out reasonably it doesn’t necessarily have to devolve into shit. For instance, you pointed out my typo which I’ve taken on board and corrected. I’d made a reference to a moment in the movie Annie Hall

which I’d expect a KVR forummer to pick up on, but hey nobody’s perfect.

Whatever, but that does not make your LFO-statement vis-a-vis Beat Map and density control true on page 84, which is on topic in contrast to this ^^^^^. Sorry, but I do not fancy being corrected with false statements, so either check before you try, or take the heat if you fail.

Again you've just said I'm wrong without any explanation when all I was saying was LFOs in themselves aren't providing randomness, if it's a repeating wave with a frequency then it's a predictable pattern. I said nothing about beat map or density controls or the application of the LFO.IncarnateX wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 6:45 am Whatever, but that does not make your LFO-statement vis-a-vis Beat Map and density control true on page 84, which is on topic in contrast to this ^^^^^. You said it right after my post, so do not deflect that connection. And yes, I am impatient because I stated it in relation to another who was wrong about it too, and with an attitude. However, I already told you that this is about varying seeds, so you have an explanation if you examine what this mean. However, I will give you a short version: Say you program a beat with 16 steps in play. Now, lowering the density will take some of these beats out with a “throw of a dice” from the software. However, it will only throw once, unless you tell it to throw again, thus you connect a lfo to its density control with any waveform you want, because only thing it does is to keep telling the software to throw a seed again. You can vary tempo and range ofc.
Most easy way to explore the throw-the-seed principle is by Ochen K’s modules. Look at the backside, it has a seed cv indput

Though these modules share the seed principle with Beat Map, they are not quite the same, but that is another story.

Shame isn't it? It wasn't though until mholloway and jens piped in with unsurprisingly condescending yet incorrect information, ruined the whole thread with a few paragraphs of nonsense which is typical around here.EnochLight wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 1:33 pm I feel like this entire thread is hooked up to Beat Map.

Naaaaa - "without getting it right" would suggest there isn't a ton of useful information in these 85 pages (there is), and good feedback from users and Reason Studios alike (there is). I'm just suggesting it tends to meander, twist, and take random turns a lot.IncarnateX wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 4:08 pm That would be 85 pages without getting it right. Wow. Just wow.
