The "2084 Rezz IW" patch in my sorted out patches was inspired by the intro sound of Van Halen 1984 (the resonant sweep sound).
Here is a new patch that should be closer to the real thing (and IMHO sounds better than the previous approach):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/6tedij7ev0cbj ... W.zip?dl=1

For this approach of the patch i used 2 "tricks". One is increasing the resonance in the voice trimmers like it was mentioend in a discussion at the official OBsesion thread and which i also used for the Tom Sawyer Sweep patch posted yesterday.
Second is this one posted at the official OBsession thread:
urosh wrote: Tue Jun 23, 2020 5:57 pm BTW, that cheap simulation (env*(1-0.5*env)) gave me an idea to try this in mod matrix on Obsession. Select filter envelop as mod source, env mod as mod destination, and set negative level for mod amount. My ear fancies -33, and it looks like I will use this gimmick a lot. You can go all the way down to -100, at one point it becomes very obvious that attack peak becomes attack dip, which is useful for some stuff.
In the patch you might experiment with different mod amounts for the Flt Env->Env Amt modulation in the mod matrix. In this patch additionally the Modwheel reduces the env amount value in the filter section.

PS:
While i already made more than 200 patches with OBsession there still seem to be some nice and/or new "tricks" that i could learn about this synth... :)
Concerning that also certain factory presets like e.g. the "Gold French" patch by Kevin Schroeder are quite interesting.

New patch "Subdivision Pad IW" inspired by the song Subdivisons by Rush:

New patch "JX8P Stab Brass IW" recreated from the Roland JX-8P preset in the PG-8X plugin:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/renx4wqjuaudt ... W.zip?dl=1

This patch uses pitch modulation by the filter envelope and velocity control for both the volume and the filter env amount.
As the JX-8P had DCOs i removed the voice variations for this patch.

@e-crooner:
Many thanks for the patches. Those are indeed nice.

I prefer being able to play basses at lower octaves so for the bass patches i changed the transpose at the OBsession back panel to -12 for those.

New patch called "Dynamics Brass IW":
https://www.dropbox.com/s/56utckub5uozn ... W.zip?dl=1
Like the name suggests this uses velocity to control both the volume and the filter env amount.
Aftertouch controls Cutoff and the Modwheel increases the filter env amount.

That probably messed up the keytracking modulations I had carefully set up in the matrix :P

How so?
It does the same thing like if you transpose your midi keyboard down by an octave.

I just noticed that e-crooner routed a "Keytrack (C4)" source to "Cutoff" which works in a differnt way than activating the TRACK switch and routing "Const" to "Flt Keytrack" which is the way i normally use and keytracking there works the same way as with just using the on/off switch (but with an adjustable amount). I already mentioned that in the other OBsession thread.

Those 2 methods are using a different root key (C4 for the "Keytrack (C4)" source) and the difference gets bigger with higher keytracking amounts which i just checked with one of those bass sounds. The "Keytrack (C0)" source is actually much better for this purpose and the result is mostly similar to using the "Flt keytracking" mod destination. That is also a reason why the 2nd keytracking mod source was added.

I would mormally only use the dedicated keytracking mod sources for other stuff but not for filter keytracking. There is a reason why the "Flt keytracking" mod destinbation is included and in the early beta versions the 2 keytracking mod sources were not even included.

I don't think so.
Initialize everything, set the cutoff to 12 o'clock, filter envelope to zero, then set up a keytrack C4 --> cutoff frequency modulation, set its amount to max.
Then go to the back panel, play a note, then transpose it up or down an octave, and play the same note (i.e. an octave up or down on the keyboard) and you will hear that the sound is clearly brighter or duller, not the same.

Those are my patches, please leave them exactly the way they are. Thanks.

Not sure if you are joking or not. Maybe I am misunderstanding.
If he downloads the patch that you have so kindly posted, saves it to his machine and tweaks it to how he prefers it, and is not to redistribute that tweaked version, you would have an issue with him or anyone else doing that?
