Free Patches for Synapse Audio OBsession (currently 122 patches)

I just noticed that e-crooner routed a "Keytrack (C4)" source to "Cutoff" which works in a differnt way than activating the TRACK switch and routing "Const" to "Flt Keytrack" which is the way i normally use and keytracking there works the same way as with just using the on/off switch (but with an adjustable amount). I already mentioned that in the other OBsession thread.

Those 2 methods are using a different root key (C4 for the "Keytrack (C4)" source) and the difference gets bigger with higher keytracking amounts which i just checked with one of those bass sounds. The "Keytrack (C0)" source is actually much better for this purpose and the result is mostly similar to using the "Flt keytracking" mod destination. That is also a reason why the 2nd keytracking mod source was added.

I would mormally only use the dedicated keytracking mod sources for other stuff but not for filter keytracking. There is a reason why the "Flt keytracking" mod destinbation is included and in the early beta versions the 2 keytracking mod sources were not even included.

Those are my patches, please leave them exactly the way they are. Thanks.

Not sure if you are joking or not. Maybe I am misunderstanding.
If he downloads the patch that you have so kindly posted, saves it to his machine and tweaks it to how he prefers it, and is not to redistribute that tweaked version, you would have an issue with him or anyone else doing that?

Of course, at the end of the day, he can do with them whatever he wants (except change them in any way and then publish them referencing me), I suppose presets are not copyrighted, unfortunately.

I can't imagine he would want to redistribute them. I for instance when working with presets, usually tweak them to fit better into my project so I was curious to understand what you meant.

I never planned to do anything like that with tehz patches of e-crooner.

I just explained how i think filter keytracking should be usually done in OBsession and there seem to be 2 other options besides the one used by e-crooner.
I did not even save a differnt keytracking i just did that for testing/comparing 2 different methods that i described in my post above.

Again here are the 2 methods i prefer for filter keytracking:
1.) activate TRACK button in the filter section and route a "Const" mod source to "Flt Keytrack" destination
2.) route "Keytrk (C0)" source to Cutoff (with TRACK button off)

The 3rd option is the one that was used by e-crooner ("Keytrk (C4) source routed to "Cutoff").

I didn't dive into Obsession that much, keytracking C4 seemed close to what I am used to from Sylenth1, so I picked that one. I just made a few patches for fun, so, I am not familiar with all the options, yet. (And I probably never will as I can hardly justify buying it, given its limitations. I really miss more envelopes for instance, but also retrigger and phase controls, an equalizer, a better chorus etc.)

C0 probably leads to even bigger differences than C4 when you get to high octaves. That is why I prefer the hinge note somewhere in the middle of the keyboard.

In Sylenth1, I often use keytracking for volume as well, even for pw.

Actually, I don't like that about Obsession. The way dedicated controls and the mod matrix interfere with each other. I understand why it is the way it is, i.e. the front panel representing the strict emulation, but the interaction between front panel controls and similar mod matrix options is a bit confusing.

As already mentioned in an early beta only the "Flt Keyrack" mod destination was there to freely adjust the filter keytracking.
Later someone asked for keytracking sources and 2 of them were added. Those could not just for the filter keytracking but also for other possible tasks.

I had used it in my "Bagpipe Drone IW" patch to get an oscillator with constant pitch along all octaves (like the osc keytrack switch in the Prophet 5 Osc 2 and Minimoog Osc 3).
In my "Keytrack PWM IW" patch i used it to have a different pulse width across different notes/octaves.
You might also map a keytracking source to the LFO 1/2 rate and/or LFO 1/2 depth.

Here's my first 24 Obsession sounds. Sorry for the average programming skills, it really is the first time I post patches. I don't even know how to name or categorize the patches. But I hope you guys like them (even if it's only one). Feel free to use the patches or modify to your tastes.

Many thanks for those patches. Indeed some nice ones there,espeially if this is really the first time you are posting patches. IIRC the first ones for me were patches for AAS Tassman 4 posted at their own patch download database around 14 years ago.

Dual patch with 4 Saw Oscs a very long filter sweep.

An approach to the CS-80 Brass sound in "Africa" by Toto.
It uses Modwheel and aftertouch modulation for the Cutoff and velocity control for the filter env amount. With this specific patch using aftertouch seems to be quite important.

I created a modified version of my "Cloud Strings IW" factory presets called "Cloud Strings - MW Mod IW":

Without using the Modwheel it sounds similar to the factory presets but with the Modwheel used 4 parameters are changed/reduced: Amp envelope Attack + Release and Chorus + Reverb Dry/Wet amounts.
