Hey folks
I just bought a guitar after a long break from playing and am currently looking for guitar fx/amp software that's going to work outside a DAW and be as good as it can be.
Thats where you come in. Share your wisdom!

well,
I've heard of the Helix and the Kemper
-but I see that's not really the question you ask
imo, a plugin host will not be an overcomplication
many are light and built for performance
minimal hosts are Kushview Element and Freestyle and this one from JUCE->
https://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/dyugvm
as far as amp sims, what is there fellas and gals
I've heard of Amplitube,Vandal,Helix,Kuassa- but there are many
capable and carefully built ones
--as far as a guitar studio program- it's a good idea
and an awaiting market

There used to be software targeted at guitarists like Cakewalk Guitar Tracks or Sonoma Riffworks.
Out of current software, IK Multimedia Amplitube has an 8 track DAW-like recorder.
