^ yeah, the money is not much of an issue, it’s more the uncertainty of not knowing how long it may continue. Financially, after a year or so, I might have to consider finding another job. ;p

Bought and sold a ton of gear in 2020 trying to find the perfect do it all piece (OP-1, Digitakt, TR-8S, SP-404). Ended up settling on the Roland MC-707 a couple months ago, thing is amazing, especially if you're making house music.

Polyend Tracker looks really interesting as well...itching to pull the trigger on a pre-order, but one of the points of the MC-707 was to de-clutter unnecessary gear. Decisions...

I’ve already picked up so much stuff this year I can’t even keep track of it all!

I’m wanting to get more hands on with my music making, so my latest two orders I’m currently waiting on are a Nord Drum 3P and a Soma DVINA
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

I bought a great custom pedal from True North Pedals, similar to the one pictured. Instead of the reverb, I had a delay/reverb multi-effect installed. The Germanium Boost and especially the Tweed Drive are completely amazing....I wanted something I could use to get the sound I wanted without a huge footprint. This is awesome.

Yeah I’ve turned into a total Soma fanboy. I’ve got a Lyra-8, Pulsar-23, Pipe, Ether, and soon the DVINA. It is kind of a bummer not to be able to go out exploring with Ether, but I’ve got an endless supply of electronics here to listen to. My favorite so far has been my Alienware laptop, which puts out something similar to a melodic sample&hold sequence when I listen to the left of the touchpad.

cool!
i wanted it more as a replacement for a walkman/mp3 player than as a tool. although i would of course sample it too. but i liked the idea of long journeys hearing the differences between different areas.

still on the list.

and although drums arent my thing, that pulssr is a monstsr :o

Pre-ordered a U.D.O. Super 6 a couple of months ago. Still saving for a custom Lowden F50C acoustic, will hopefully order this year.

FXDf arrived Satruday and Planar 2 today. They are kind of a fun combo :D

FXDf vs. software EQ is kind of a weird thought. Software of course is more flexible in a lot of ways, but the advantage of FXDf is it's just right there, with its multiple outputs inviting me to patch it in ways I wouldn't patch a software EQ.

Planar is pretty brilliant. Crossfading, mixing, panning, controlling filters or FM depth or wavefolders, or plugin parameters like delay time or flanger manual control, all at once. And both the recorder and the polar-to-Cartesian converter are huge fun :D The whole thing makes me want to try quadraphonic, except for that small lack of quad headphones and MP3s :P

I was having a nap when the courier rang, then I checked up on my internet wishlist. Turns out it's one of those days, when everything finally happens - all at once.

- finally found a discounted Behringer Pro-1
- so I also ordered an extension for my Jaspers rack (a b-stock laptop stand, to put my Behringer TD-3 on)
- the nice people at tonecontrol.nl sent me the power plug adapter that was missing from my Moog Subharmonicon's box - so if it wasn't for the cat on my lap, I could add my Moog Sirin now

Ordered one of these combos from Walrus Audio - Fathom / SLÖ

Image

And one of these, Keeley Caverns V2

I had been bouncing back and forth between all 3 of these, and then found out they put the Fathom/Slo together as a limited batch... Then I saw they had Caverns also as a limited batch with the clear knobs.

The biggest downside to the Caverns is that the wet/dry knob maxes out at 50/50, but I still like the sound of it.

The Walrus combo actually saves me $50 compared to buying them separately and that helps me sleep better since both are textural reverbs that IMO belong in the same unit anyways. I wish it worked like one pedal instead of like 2 separate ones squeezed into one box, but I still like that I be won't swapping these around.

There's no midi or CV sync goodness which is not a big deal for me on the reverbs, but would have been nice on the delay of the Caverns. I'm getting along fine with the delay on the other Keeley Dark Side pedal so I can live with the compromises (50/50 wet/dry max and no sync).

they look rather nice indeed!
not heard either of them, but know both manufacturers and they make damn fine gear! :tu:

Self-help, or is this for adding noise to the machine? Or both?
