..how much time? It hasn't really changed much in 18 years thus far. That seems like a fair amount of time.
I'm very surprised (frustrated) it hasn't been a higher priority.

There's always something else that is higher priority (see Zebra 3). It is just a huge amount of work when the custom baked internal graphical toolkit NI used for everything until recently (when they started using Qt for Crush/Mod Pack and MX), was made 20 years ago and does not know about HiDPI at all. So, it's gonna take a lot of time, since basically the whole GUI and all bindings and interactions need to be reprogrammed from scratch. I cannot tell you how much time, but the scope of the work is humongous.

maybe makes more sense to make a brand new product that supports 4k graphics but has the features of Kontakt.
Gear & Setup: Windows 10, Dual Xeon, 32GB RAM, Cubase 10.5/9.5, NI Komplete Audio 6, NI Maschine, NI Jam, NI Kontakt

Kontakt and Reaktor both need a GUI re-design asap, agree.

TBH, I stopped trying to imagine why posts get downvoted here. Kids. Enough said.

True, but this is basically what I said. It's still a pretty monumental task, considering bajillion of features that are in there.telecode wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2020 12:46 pm maybe makes more sense to make a brand new product that supports 4k graphics but has the features of Kontakt.

There shouldn't be at this point. The UI was designed in an era of Pentium III's and 1024x768, 4:3 ratio tube monitors.EvilDragon wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2020 12:25 pm There's always something else that is higher priority (see Zebra 3).
It's absurd that 2 decades later, the flagship sampler platform, for a company that has done so much on it, still has such an antiquated interface. I'm sure it's a huge undertaking, but there should be a serious effort dedicated on this as a top priority. Not kicking the can down the road further simply because it is a lot of work.

Well, we don't get to decide what is top priority at any given time. You can bet Mac on ARM is gonna postpone things some more.

I dont think Kontakt will ever get a modern GUI update, NI will just keep going with all the old stuff for as long as they can just adding more pre-sets and Sample packs. Even if Kontakt was updated, I would imagen ever 3rd party developer would also have to update their GUI's against a new framework to realy see any benefit.
I much prefer falcon, but Kontakt has the library and developers legacy (stuff like Output). If they ever make a 'Falcon' version I would switch 'Kompletely'

Just curious what % of user base are on 4k monitors? NI should do a survey. My DAW setup still uses 10 year old CPU and monitor. Everything looks find on my setup.

Reckon most folks are using computers newer than 10 years old. Still, good for you.
Kontakt is too small for me so when I use it I command + scroll the entire screen to zoom in.
