Going to try my hand at my first pedal build. Will probably screw this up royally and get frustrated, but hey, there's a pandemic on and it's my patriotic duty to sit in the basement and not leave the house.

Took the fuzz advice and ordered one of these from StewMac:

...I've already got a Big Muff Tri reissue, and a BiYang Fuzz-Star, but no octave fuzzes, so this should be a nice add. Who couldn't always use another fuzz pedal right?

Re. making pedal boards: I'm gonna do it at some point. I've got a small enough 1Spot power brick and I don't fancy drilling my pedal board - I guess it's OK to attach the 1Spot to the underside using thick tape and/or velcro instead of drilling?

It might be a good idea to give some extra support with a few cable ties.

Thanks, that makes sense.

Made a start on my mini pedal board by ordering a Mode Machines MM-9 Power Brick from Gear4Music. It was going for £30 which is £10/20 cheaper than the Xvive/SubZero ones which look very similar. All have one 18V output which is all I need as only the Xvive Compressor runs off it.

The Sonicake Blue Skreamer looks interesting as part of it.
I miss MindPrint. My TRIO needs a big brother.

How NOT to reduce your pedal pile by comparing them:
(an old vid of 6 Cycle Hum, in which Ryan talks about his attempt to say goodbye to redundant DOD250 clones: "now I want to have even more")

^ I have a couple (Reissue, Grey Spec Clone) but that Mosky D250x is so cute I can’t resist.

Any recommendations for a cheap (<$50) mini fuzz pedal? Currently thinking the Mosky Fuzzface or Tomsline G-Fuzz. I already have an EHX Double Muff (Nano) so don’t really want a muff clone in a smaller shell.

My Cuvave fuzz arrived today, < €20, nice velcro fuzz according to affordable gear guru Ryan ("60 Cycles Hum" @ Youtube). Amazingly heavy, looks made to last. Haven't tried it yet.

It's the only mini fuzz pedal I own (unless you count the "Nano" EHX Muff reissues, which I love, they are some of my absolute favourites).
I don't think the Double Muff you mention is representative of the Muff range though, and I love all 5 reissues.

^ Thanks, I’ll check out the Cuvave fuzz.

I tried a couple of other EHX Muff pedals before going with the Double Muff. It’s perfect for what I need (and do) and I’ve even used it as a “broken” speaker sim by putting it on the simulated output of my Blackstar pedal. I also have a Biyang Muff clone, rebranded an Eagletone Mozzer Fuzzer (great name :) ), and an EHX Holy Stain which covers any other Muff type stuff I want.

How about a Rowin LEF-606 Fuzz

Just realised the Landlord optical Compressor might be a rebranded Rowin compressor.
An optical compressor pedal as the first in the pedal chain, works well.

and a Mooer Solo a Dist II. (Solo dist) AKA Donner Morper?

Both cheaper.

Thanks, I’ll check it out.

There seems to be a lot of rebranding going on, but also similar controls with different components. I read that one factory (Mooer, I think) makes similar designs for several brands, with differences in budget/quality.

Anyway, after looking I’m planning to get the following (eventually  ):
Sonicake Blue Skreamer
Mosky D250X, Crazy Tone & Blue Delay
Tomsline G-Fuzz

Also, I’m still looking for a Chorus possibly the Mosky CE one or Tone City Angel Wing looks good (but pricey).

I'm all for budget stuff, I don't buy into the boutique marketing. Except the Op-Amp Big Muff Pi , not worth looking for an alternative. Like the Suhr Riot, it always comes out top against the clones.
Been looking for a budget Analog delay, and the Behringer VD400 keeps coming out top.
