I just won’t be in a mad rush to upgrade yet.

I saw a text only list of what's new in Studio One 5
but lost the link. If you have it please post it.

Ableton Live does the ‘remember MIDI’ thing and I don’t think I’ve used it once.

Well, the PreSonus site is flooded for the v5 upgrades. Cant even use my account.

Stan Navi wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2020 5:07 pm Show page is a more Mainstage competitor than Ableton/Bitwig. In that case, it is quite good, especially setting up controllers.
Presonus is not trying to be Ableton and they primarily seem to target engineers, musicians, etc. So it makes sense that's what they would go with versus a clip launcher. I personally think it was a very good idea. Sometimes I want to play my S1 sessions live but had to move all of that into stems and then into Live. This cuts the middle man and unlike MainStage is not as confusing to setup. I still think they need to do more work with the Channel Editor but maybe they'll do that in another update.

That being said I'm never going to pay for a sub. If Presonus decides to make that the only option in the future they've lost what used to be a life long customer.

By the end is was - "nah! I pass.

Looks like they bypassed Live and Bitwig and even Logic and went for the Pro Tools crowd.

Cakewalk Bandlab have a half implemented live looping mode. I bet they get there before Presonus or Steinberg do now.
They have always been gunning for the ProTools type crowd. They are a company that sells audio hardware and that's their focus, always. I don't think they are interested in becoming the next Ableton or whatever. They are more interested in becoming the next ProTools or Cubase and now with the Show view they seem to be going after the MainStage crowd.

Anyway. While the update looks cool. I told you guys that Presonus is the worst when it comes to hype. They overhype and under deliver for the most part and that has been going on for a long time. I never get too excited for their updates. This update seems cool and I already bought it but like most of their updates I won't use it for a few weeks.

Doesn't look like they added midi retrospective record...again, unless I missed it. Only asked for one thing since version 1.0. Table stakes implemented in far worse DAWs. C'mon Apple, bring Logic back to the PC! I'm done with the upgrades. More features I would never use.
Even I was offended by what I was going to put here.

They should extend Midi Fx features and plugins, especially with Show page.

No offense, but that's the oddest thing I read so far about this update. You find it underwhelming, but bought it, but won't use it for a few weeks? Why did you even buy it then? :)

Slate who? :hihi:

I wonder if this finally allows for a second timeline, as in bars AND minutes/seconds?
