Given that most of my work and likes are in electronic music, I HAVE to admit most of the lyrics in most of electronic music are so bland and uninspiring it hurts. Too many songs are about how "we are young, white, wasted and have enough money to do stupid things without consequence"

The thing is, vocals or lyrics RARELY fit a song. Some electronic songs are SO RICH AND COMPLEX in its instrumentals that vocals screw them up, because the compression destroys the song details to highlight the singer.

That out of the way, THERE ARE great lyrics in electronic music, and properly mixed vocals too! One example that immediately comes to my mind is Above and Beyond's latest gorgoeus single Reverie (a bit cheesy but very vulnerable and personal too :'''') ):
