Keeping aside the cliched answer of " it's not the sample library, it's how you use them" , I would like to know what are some of the good sample libraries for strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion.

I know there have been lot of enhancements off late.. but would like to know which rates the best in each areas in the last couple of years 2019-2020.

Would sound a good discussion.

I use Spitfire Audio libraries. They are expensive (relatively) but are of superb quality and highly functional.Of course there are less expensive options and one would say even more expensive options so I guess it depends on your budget.Try their Labs series or if you have Kontakt go to https://www.pianobook.co.uk and get loads of superb free libraries of usual and unusual instruments, not just for pianos.

Probably Orchestral Tools, if you want complete and high quality traditional orchestra stuff. Spitfire does have the advantage of offering both traditional and more niche sounds, some of which are great like the LCO Strings. Those two seem to be getting ahead of the rest of the companies which have full orchestras.

Sample Modeling and Performance Samples don't have the complete orchestra covered, but in their niches they are doing extremely interesting things which are well worth a look, and Performance Samples/Audio Ollie's Nashville Chamber Strings is something big to look forward to.

Labs is excellent along with pianobook.

No love for VSL?
They transition to Synchron, so it might be a mix of VI and Synchron(-ized) instruments though.
Orchestral tools also transition to SINE, by the way.
