Just recently got back into diving deeper into this beast synth, made a couple of patches today which inspired me to also make a short cinematic track with it, all sounds are my own RAPID patches (hope its allowed to post demos here - if not, please let me know and I'll take it down ASAP!)

I am loving this.
Thanks for sharing..
I find they aren't that many video and audio examples online, and certainly even fewer with this type of sound.
Really appreciated.

Thank you, glad you like it!

It's definitely a quite versatile synth, quick and intuitive to use with a "rapid" workflow and I find it can do a wide variety of sounds. The FX, especially the big lush reverbs are also lovely and can also be used standalone as their own plugins.

Indeed. If the granular engine is powerful & top quality, and it allows to create massive & dense soundscape clouds, I'm on board all the way with that sale.

And please Parawave, don't make the mistake alot of devs do: not allowing to import your own samples into the granular engine...
you can already import samples into rapid
Check out my website for synth/software articles reviews and presets http://databroth.com (new review every monday)

I also do experimental sound design and demos of plugins (no talking) on my youtube: https://www.youtube.com/databroth

Didn't know that, as I didn't try it yet since granular is not in yet. Good to know then!

But from what I know, it can already play multisamples. no?

Hi, Two Quick Questions.
I downloaded the Demo again.

1) On Both Mac and PC the plug in itself is called Rapid Demo in the Vst folder.... But when I load them in Cubendo, the Mac one says Rapid Plugin Demo, and the PC says Rapid Demo. Is that inconsistency in the 'real' version too? (Surely the plugin doesn't need to be part of the name on mac. I think everyone knows it is a plugin :) )

2) Whenever I do previous or next preset, or load a new different preset, on both mac and pc, with tooltips on and off, there is a brief pop that says the preset name and some more info about it. Does this happen in the 'real' version too? Any way to disable it?

thanks

1) On PC the VST says just "Rapid".
2) Yes this is always displayed when changing presets. Never noticed as I'm not using presets mostly. But strange nevertheless with tooltips off.

Post

Thanks, yes I would expect the final version not to have the Demo as part of its name :)
Curious to know if the Mac version says Rapid or Rapid Plugin.

thanks for a quick response.

It looks a lot prettier now (IMHO) than in that video

Is there any way to customize themes/skins? Not a deal breaker in any way but just curious
Yo.

Of course, in an application that supports .png format. You can edit the existing ones supplied.

I made a video to show how.

Thanks! I'll reference this later once I purchase it. Btw, I like the dark skins you made. Looks clean.

Thanks, yeah... most of the GUI reskins I do and actually use are generally pretty dark as I tend to compose music in the dark. Different VST GUI's pose different challenges because of the way they are created. Doing skins for Rapid is quite a long tedious process as you are having to re-save everything you change 3 times to account for the different resolutions, and you don't see how the results actually look until you continually start and shut down your DAW each time because the GUI doesn't refresh without doing so. The way the GUI elements are laid out are on a flat plane, animation frames are laid out horizontally on the flat planes rather being individual .png files like UH-E's, which poses challenges in how you modify actual knobs for example you might want to alter the look of. For flat panel areas, you need to read what graphic refers to what on the GUI of the VST visually. It's for these reasons I think that you don't see many people posting customised skins, however the new skin they created is fine. For me, I like a challenge and also like to personalise stuff to my preferences when it comes to design and colour of GUI's.
