Though you may get somewhat edgier sounds if you use it on a wavetable which already has some FM embedded.

WIP mix, unfinished, unmastered (and not sure if ever will be), just an example of FM sounds from Virus which I personally like (at 3:00)

Nice track! I'm really digging it!

To another conversation that was going on.. as far as using samples in a synthesizer... PADsynth samples are quite nice and I use them quite a bit, I imagine they would go well in ANA2. How is the interpolation? I'm really close to picking this up.
In the future there will be robots!

Thanks! :) Gotta finish this track some day.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Very much looking forward to Ana2 getting multisampling options as Phil mentioned in another Ana2 thread. It would make a highly useful synth even more so IMO.

Sounds great as it is and very versatile

Hi,

I just installed, and played a bit with ANA2 today, really nice sounding synth. I will be discovering what it offers in the coming days.

I got it because I subscribe to the Slate Digital All Access Pass. It was a surprise to know it was part of the subscription, since I haven't checked their plug-ins for quite a while.

Cheers,

Plenty of love here. ANA is a very versatile beast. If you go by the presets yo might think it is a bit tame but it's Tube distortion is one of the best I've ever used, certainly the best on-board one I've heard, and let's you make monstrously filthy sounds. The more I dig into it, the more impressed I am. And to think that for several weeks I had forgotten I even bought the bloody thing!

With a bit of luck they might include a snap to zero crossing function for sample start points and looping. It's very difficult to move the start point without getting clicks and pops. The only way I've found to get around it is backing off the attack but that's not always desirable.

Phil from Sonic Academy! Can you hear me!?

If I may ask why is the download nearly 1 gig?

I think it's because it has three sample oscillators, in addition to the three wavetable OSCs. So you get a lot of samples to choose from for these three OSCs. Which are part of the download.

Prolly because of the sample content.

Muziksculp beat me to it.

OK thanks how much does this synth rely on samples vs VA oscillators for most purposes?

It's all samples. It uses wavetables, even for the basic waveforms.
