Uncle E wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2020 11:41 pm How about the Caline Pressure Point Bass Compressor? They say it’s optical, one of the Caline guys is a friend of mine but they unfortunately have a tendency to advertise incorrect information. Anyway, it adds some really good features and I wouldn’t be surprised if this is actually a knock off of the MXR Bass Compressor (which isn’t optical but is awesome on bass and acoustic).
Reviews aren’t good for the Caline Pressure Point Bass Compressor, with a number saying it’s noisy. Thanks though.

@The Noodlist: How quiet is the Cheeky Pint?

I checked out a few Riot based pedals and IMO the Mosky Crazy Tone was better at the price unless you can get the Mooer Solo cheap. In the end I stuck with my Marshall Guvnor (GV2) and ordered a Mosky Crunch Red instead.

EDIT: After receiving a Mosky pedal, I can’t really recommend them as the quality is below par. That’s comparing to an Xvive pedal.

What's the your/you're thing about?
Montreal Assembly even has a pedal by that name.

Im mostly upset by the grammar mistake on the lettering.
Set Theory claim:

Red is Red and anything that is Red is an object, a class in itself or a real thing if you prefer"

On Doom 2, you're is the circuit from the original Doom - up fuzz octave, very synthy sound, cuts the low end a bit - and your is a new circuit with a chunkier low end.

I've noticed any noise, any extreme compressor setting might bring up the noise floor. I'll try to add a sound sample here later.

Thanks, but if it’s loud enough to record easily, then all I really need is how extreme the setting are.

I’ve only used the Lemon Squeezer for light stuff so there’s been little to no noise. I think it being 18V helps with it too. I’ll try it at more extreme settings.

Also, the Palmer Pocket Amp arrived and it’s very good. For comparison, I’ve never been a Tech 21 fan (I had a Trademark amp) and I’ve put up with the Behringer GDI21 even though it was meh at best. The Palmer has a great clean sound (reminiscent of my Fender Sidekick) and the amp, mode and cab options are flexible. The only exception is the vintage amp is too clean in crunch and heavy modes, it needs to start breaking up in crunch and get heavy overdrive in heavy. It only really breaks up in heavy.

The Mosky MM Silver arrived too but it was defective. It keeps cutting out when on and the power socket moves a lot. There’s also a lot of noise, even at low gain. Otherwise my initial impression was the quality is a significant drop from Xvive. I hope the other two I ordered are better.

It sounds like a killer pedal. 18V probably gives it good headroom.

I have the MM Silver. It isn't noisy. Build quality-wise, I don't find it particularly good or bad but I don't have the Xvive to compare it with.

^ Thanks for the info. Mine is definitely defective then. Quality wise, the knobs are loose and the power socket recessed too far. I thought it was loose but I think the power jack can’t reach it properly.

The Xvive Lemon Squeezer is very nice, especially for £24. I don’t have a comparison to rate the sound properly but the build is solid and all jacks fit securely.

Xvive is an innovative company. They make the actual bucket brigade delay chips used in all the Electro Harmonix Memory Man pedals. Electro Harmonix buys them from Xvive.

Also, there are a ton of output jack wireless units available now but I believe Xvive was the company that started it.
