its synth layer out can be converted to CC with Piz MIDI midiAudioToCC - Converts audio amplitude to CC messages, it has worked in Bitwig but that's normal but it works in S1 too

just learned how it can be done ... but it's in the S1 topic

I think the routing, in Cubase AFAIK there is no direct plugin-based MIDI side-chaining so the out of midiAudioToCC will be the MIDI in of the input of the "to" track or something similar

There is also Plogue Bidule, which is not the prettiest program around, but it is capable of almost anything you want to do to audio, automation, or midi.

You also have our DP Meter Pro plug-in that can output either MIDI CC or automation based on incoming audio level(s).

How about you'd make a proper modulation plugin, with various LFOs, MSEGs, step sequencers, envelope followers; that would output MIDI CC and/or CV. There's a real hunger for a modern plugin like this!

btw. with MUX can be built quite complex modulation network

yes it has audio > modulation converter, has own rack solution with macros etc.

the only drawback its modulation framework works absolutely values not relative ones as Bitwig does so after the assignments the plugin parameters in the plugins themselves will be locked same way as is in Ableton Live, FL etc. ... Bitwig/Reason are unbeatable in this area
