Some guys on the first page, wrote that elysia alpha Is THE compressor for electronic music? I'm afraid to download the demo. Maybe it's as good as they say, but i dont want to spend 249 € on a compressor. How does it sound? Like an Opto, VCA or Fet? Are there compressor plugins that are comparable? The youtube demonstration videos are not that informative. I've tested around 15 different compressors within the last months and spent a lot of time on exploring the creative usage of compression (Jon Hopkins style, around 2013). I bought 4 of the compressors at the end, although 1 doesnt get much useCalenberger wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2020 5:37 pm Elysia Alpha is imo still one of the best compressors on the market.

Never pay list price for PA stuff, wait for a sale or Black Friday, it'll be around 30$.
Demo it, that costs nothing.

Compressors i love, that i already owned before:
TDR Nova GE
TDR Kotellnikov

They are doing #sales all over throughout the year. Just subscribe to their newsletter & they will send you quite some.
Last #deal on the Elysia was $39.99 in May.

You can also keep an eye on the bargain - discussion for a free - voucher, or just ask for one there. That would be another $25 on top of their discount then.

Prejudice!?
I recommend to test some of them with Headphones on - but I have experienced the ones I have tried/bought as completely different. Depends on your Style ...
Unfortunately they took Erin out of Sales today. The Mastering Comp is great, the EQ anyway.
Maybe Gold. Flagship. Heard good Things about Ivory. Love Ebony. But it's more about the EQs for me. Scarlet! Tested Pink for 5 Minutes only .. but maybe Amber. Sand. Coffee.
Tan ist a free Comp. And Basstard a simply brute free EQ. Don't miss the Coral Baxter!
To bei mentioned: My FX Chains are much shorter since AA. Some Problems are gone. Listen 3D - and wait until Sale/Promo 50-89€ (See Twitter!).
The only Problems with them are Selection, CPU and Latency - but that's all irrelevant against the BOOM!

BTW: I'm currently testing the Elysia Alpha ... adds some nice saturation and 3D-ish sound to the master. Somehow it brings some space between the different instruments. Thats awesome!

PA is currently upgrading the GUIs and make them scalable. I expect Eysia stuff be treated that way not too far in the future. Therefore I stick to Eysia.audiot wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2020 4:26 pmOkay, I'll definitly check the free ones. Thank youGRUMP wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2020 2:07 pmPrejudice!?
