I agree. It's really annoying. If then, I want to demo and install that one plugin, not the whole catalogue.

It’s quite obvious though that you cannot please everyone...
Some prefer single files, some complete installers for everything, some download managers.
Depends on the situation, probably. If you just want to demo one plugin, then of course having to download a huge installer that installs everything (or having to install a download manager first) is annoying. If you own several plugins of that company, having to download and install each via a single installer in case of updates is tedious.
Life really is unfair!

I assume said manager would need to have the option to download only not install, as the no internet on my DAW ever folks will not be happy.

Are there really people who thinks it's cool that installers install every single plugin of the company (could be dozens...), although you only want to install one specific one? Download managers are something entirely different, BTW. They make life easier for people who own 50 plugins of a specific vendor, while they would have to install every single plugin manually otherwise.

UAudio as mentioned before, installs everything.
I have seen ppl on UAad forum who justify it and say they are happy with it. They say it means they can demo any one that they haven't bought license for, without much effort, or something along those lines.

Well, imagine a person who for whatever reason has all the plugins from said company, one installer that updates everything could be a welcome thing, instead of having to download and install 30 different files... As it is obvious that we’re speaking of IK here, sure, that’s a marketing driven decision there, install everything and hope people demo and buy the other plugins as well...
Doesn’t bother me much personally, as it is quite easy to disable those I don’t want in my DAWs plugin manager.

Intrusive messy software and software managers are a whole lot worse to me than plugins that come in one big download.
As long as they are respectful of the user's wishes. My daws are setup neatly, OS on one SSD, Audio apps and vst's on another SSD, project files on another drive.. etc. I want installers to ASK where i want to put files, instead of taking liberty littering files wherever.
IKM does it fine, they ask me where i want to put all the programs and files, and the installers remember the locations for the next time. It's one big download, that is annoying and they should improve that, but it's not disrespectful when installing.
There are installers like the mentioned Kilohearst, also Melda comes to mind (but i think their newer installers are fixed), that just drop their junk wherever they please, not even setting up a proper foldertree in appdata, most times without a proper uninstaller too.
Native Instruments' Native Access is great here. You run it, choose whatever you want to install / update, click and it does everything for you.
For most other plugin companies that don't have many products like IKM and NI, a simple dll is the best and chances are i buy that WAY before i buy some messy big install agent if i only want 1 plugin.

So you're OK with it that it installs ALL of their plugins, even if you only have a license for one of them?
I don't want a VST folder full of plugins that only run in demo mode because I don't have a license for them. One of the reasons I will never buy anything from IKM.

The developers could, as has been pointed out, add the option to install the other plugins to the installer then. It would be handy to have à la carte installer generation.
What I mean is a way to, on a company website, select which products you want to install, then on their end they generate an installer with just those products. Then you wouldn't have to worry about getting more than you bargained for.
That or individual product installers and a front in that would batch process them in a particular folder. One could also pick and choose that way without the hassle of having to go through multiple installers.

Fair question. Like i said, IKM could really improve there. But for now i'm ok with ignoring or deleting some dll's.
