Hello everyone,
Does the old versions of Cubase Nuendo (v4) still support internal delay compensation for modern plug-ins ? Also does the output quality (mixed down export) of v10 is perhaps better than v4 ? anyone has done any tests?
Thanks
Best regards,
Sam

As the current cubase mix engine is based on cubase SX/nuendo 1 from early 2000, I don’t think that there is a significant difference regarding PDC or quality between older and newer versions. SX2 was the first version to support full PDC according to Wikipedia.
cubase 4 should generally work with modern VST2 plugins. Not sure about VST3 though, C4 was the first version to introduce VST3, but there have been several newer releases to the VST3 SDK, don’t know if they’re compatible.

I’d be really curious to know why anyone would want to use Cubase 4... from my memory it wasn’t really good cubase version. C5 or C6.5 were way better. Or just go to 10. Any other current DAW would probably make more sense, too.
